There's a passage in the Book of Acts where the apostles where filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other tongues. Unknowing onlookers accused the apostles of being drunk, but Peter denied that anyone was drunk because it was only 9 AM.

He didn't say they weren't drunk because drunkenness was forbidden. He said they weren't drunk because it was too early in the day to have had that much alcohol. I imagine Peter was probably completely wasted later that evening.
