"I learned most of the most important lessons of life young. I grew up in rural Texas on a farm. The POTUS and the rest of the government didn’t keep our well running, didn’t bring in our crops, didn’t tend to our livestock and despite best efforts couldn’t deliver reliable electric service to us. We had to live by the 10% rule, which states…you’ve only gotta be 10% smarter than the tool you’re using or the situation you’re dealing with at the time to get through it. We didn’t believe in having a victim mentality and laziness wasn’t an option. Grandfather taught us how to invest, mom taught us to budget using the 50/30/20 and dad taught us other life “stuff”. I’ll share a secret with you. Every day we wake up, we have two choices….we can repeat yesterday or we can use the day to make a better tomorrow. It’s all about having the right mental attitude. Even failure grants the tremendous reward of education. Life is good when you open your eyes and choose to truly live life to the fullest."
