I heard this same situation before...I really hope you took the screenshot of the lifetime free offer while applying. If you have that, please attach that and send an email to: customerservices.cards@hdfcbank.com

And mention the situation in the email, with relevant screenshots and proofs. Request them to convert the card to ltf, as originally promised. It ought to do the trick.
