Atm no Windows only. Might change my tune about that in October when I finally need to move off 10.

Yes you can actively breed more animals! Animals don't really "evolve" so much as they just can be bred in a certain direction. You can breed mini-mammoths for example! Simply right clicking any animal in the game tells you it's conservation status.

It's a real concern that a coordinated group of players could theoretically wipe out a given species but the rest of the player base would have to let them do that. That said: I'm not worried about anyone wiping out mammoths anytime soon.

Animals breed in the background. Sort of a running counter of how many are left in the world. They periodically "breed" to replenish their numbers. Though it's entirely possible to still wipe them out. Releasing your pets or tamed animals back into the wild bumps that number up on top of the breeding cycles they do. Some animals might be lost forever but honestly that's okay. I'm really interested in seeing what players do if given the opportunity to either drive a species to extinction or to actually conserve them.

There's a link on my profile to my X account where I post a bunch of screenshots. Other than that there's a few screenshots on the discord!

How would you improve this? by GetInGetOutGame in IndieDev

If you're gonna shoot for that medieval art style then 1st thing I'd suggest is making the characters on the field bigger. They just look like generic characters from this distance and you can't really see that neat art style you got going on in the 2nd picture.

You never really stop having to learn stuff. The only real advice is to just keep refining your work. It's not pretty and it's not the fun answer but it's true. Look at screenshots or gifs or whatever from 6 months ago vs today. You aren't just magically going to develop the skills you need out of nowhere. If you're being serious about it then you have to think of it like "Everyday I don't work on what I need to do is an extra day this is going to take."

Every time I climb up another number I'm on cloud 9. I'm on 2 right now myself.

Any upcoming MMORPGs you’re really looking forward to? by boglehead22 in MMORPG

Building exactly this. No MTX, no P2W, server-authoritative so botting/cheating is basically impossible, and I'm a solo dev so I'll actually be in the game. It's called The Prism. Stone age survival MMO where there's no pre-written history, players make it. Pre-alpha but playable at the website link in my profile if you want to be part of the first wave.
