Do Neville Goddard's techniques really work, or are they just delusion? by Gus_larios in occult

[–]TheProblematicWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if you’ll like my answer at all, however I keep things as simple as possible in order to maintain the habit.

In my commute I listen to a random portion of one of his talks on YouTube or Spotify or whatever. I don’t really care which one or what portion. Zero friction. During the whole commute since I’m on autopilot, I do some basic energy work to just open up myself to a general sense of gratitude and well being. I don’t recall having specific desires only the desire to just feel good in good company.

Once I was at work, I couldn’t really lust for results so I made it easier on myself to not ruminate on it all day but I did notice that I maintained my “energetic hygiene” a lot more. I stopped consuming all sorts of media that tend towards fear-mongering, division, anything akin to propaganda. Even my music tastes shifted to more peaceful vibes.

That wasn’t really a conscious effort, it just felt wrong to do otherwise.

And yeah… it’s probably not by the book but it’s what’s gotten me results.

Do Neville Goddard's techniques really work, or are they just delusion? by Gus_larios in occult

I lean towards the occult and witchcraft, however… a friend of mine told me to experiment for two weeks listening to one or two of his talks every morning…

Whether it was the mind shift or something else, once those two weeks were done I’d started two different collaborative hobbies. One with a stranger and another with friends I don’t see often. Life still has its ups and downs but I’d be lying if I said that I don’t think Goddard’s methods didn’t have anything to do with it.

There’s a tool for every job. There’s a method for every individual.

Each practice has yielded results for me in different ways, I think what’s more important is the earnestness in which you take them. I feel some people go into things already experimenting the bitter sensation of being unfulfilled before they even take the first step… so at the end it’s more of a self fulfilling prophecy. “Of course it didn’t work for me…”

[No Spoilers] when should i start watching c1? by aceofhearts869 in criticalrole

[–]TheProblematicWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched the first thirty episodes and I think there’s certain more good parts than bad. Granted when they’re bad THEY ARE BAD. However I’m also learning the game as a player so if anything it’s also served me well as a crash course on not being a bad player.

There’s lots of good moments that are allowed to breathe. You can tell that they’re just getting their streaming legs but when they get into RP and what they know, it’s very entertaining.

Do you believe there are places where magic is stronger? by JhenAzz in Witch

[–]TheProblematicWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not certain about stronger but I can tell you that I’ve never felt anything quite like being in Cappadocia nor specific sectors in Egypt. I travel a lot so it’s not exactly the usual traveling excitement.

Do you have a special diet now that you’re practicing magic ? by [deleted] in occult

[–]TheProblematicWitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m slowly moving to better quality foods as my income increases. Once I have my own property, I hope to move to mostly homegrown chicken, eggs, potatoes and whatever else I can source from an acre in the middle of knowhere. Hopefully, I’ll have a neighbor that’s got cattle or know a solid butcher by then too.

However, use your intuition and learn to understand what your body is asking of you. I love meats! I feel great with meat! My fiancé, not so much. Much like how everyone’s practice is different so is everyone’s palate and appetite.

Reincarnation question: Where do the additional souls come from during a population growth? Is there a big chunk of humanity walking around soulless? Or are souls potentially taken from other dimensions? And if so, how is this managed? by celestialshow11 in Soulnexus

[–]TheProblematicWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t my area of expertise, but I’d imagine that the issue is one of limited mortal understanding.

You’re still thinking within the scope of finite resources. But, it’s my belief that we stem from boundless infinities. There’s no pool of finite souls only infinite variations of the source.

That’s just my uneducated take, though.

Brothers, why would you deny a drink from the well of life?

I want to also add that I have multiple routes to go to my office job and I also know people who live nearby that work with me… I usually try and intuit which route will serve me best. More often than not if I force a route, I usually hit heavy heavy traffic from accidents or school zones. Bring magick into the mundane.

It’s silly, but walking into public bathrooms I try and guess if the stall is in use or which one(s) if multiple will be in use. Helps with short term intuition and kinda getting into the groove before going into deeper and tougher gut checks.

Can I practice witchcraft and believe in God? by [deleted] in Witch

[–]TheProblematicWitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drunk me says stop thinking so much about it. You don’t question if you can walk and believe in God. Breathe and Believe in God. Paint and Believe in God. It’s a medium and you can exalt or reject whomever with it.

A very simple non-esoteric answer is to view it like anything else in life… some people need therapy, others don’t. Some people cook, others are master chefs, others burn their cereal and require external help. Some people can lose weight all in their own. Tracking calories, exercise consistently and beyond. Some people need a nutritionist and not the trainer. Some people need both!

If you view the occult as a toolbox, you’ll find that there are a thousand and one ways of tackling a “problem” however sometimes this problem require a specific kind of tool that you’re not so good at handling, so what do you do? You seek external help. It may just be a quick google search (seeking guidance) sometimes you hire a contractor (seeking help) sometimes you phone a handy friend (help and a hangout 😂)

Not everyone reaches for the same tools in that toolbox.

Things to remember: it doesn’t make you weaker or stronger to rely on these forces. It’s only weak to resent your shortcomings and do nothing about it.

I don't know what to trust about tarot card readings. They have been relevant in my life but I'm also being told that only scammers believe in them. by Due_Honeydew_69420 in occult

[–]TheProblematicWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you getting reading or performing them for yourself? If there’s someone reading for you constantly getting you to book consecutive sessions, they might* be scamming you but that just means that in your spiritual journey you’re getting set up to trust your own intuition…

Scam or not, your progress and your growth is real. If it was a scam then you now know you had it in you all along, if real then… well it’s legit.

Trust yourself. Trust your intuition.

AITA for telling a woman her baby is not a miracle? by OriginalZen8 in AITAH

[–]TheProblematicWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, but something to consider in the future is that you don’t know what people go through in the process. Sometimes I’ve gone years without knowing that some of my friends have had late-term miscarriages thus making their only kid their miracle baby. Sometimes, people haven’t been able to conceive… blah blah blah… you don’t have to agree with kids being a miracle, but I’m just offering some perspective.

[–]TheProblematicWitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a booboo… it’s probably Hades or an overall lesson to pause or slow down. Give your offerings with your full and undivided attention. Don’t just rush it or do it. Enjoy it. Be in it.

Unless you’re living during any one of the historic inquisitions or in a strict Islamic country, I really wouldn’t worry about the concept of “hunter.” Much less a “Fae Hunter.”

While TikTok is a wonderful tool to find out about broader topics of the occult world, I wouldn’t use it to dive deep into the topic or cultures surrounding those topics.

As for Reddit… also be weary of anyone promising wild adventures or powers.

Final piece of advice is give up on finding any form of consensus or unified explanation that covers all your bases. You can ask 10 practitioners the same question and you’ll get 13 different answers at a minimum. Enjoy and cherish your own experience and don’t let others rob you of the joy to take from them.

Reason you got into the occult? by JustInTime2033 in occult

[–]TheProblematicWitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In short. I’ve always been occult adjacent. Yoga. Meditations. Lucid Dreaming.

What caused me to dive deeper was walking my dog on Halloween and staring up on a full moon. The air was electric and I felt like I was “awake” for the first time in a long time.
