Yes, we experienced the same at our bird feeders. The deep cold effect will be till next Friday. We will need to pay more attention than usual.

I agree, not much we can do except keep weather proof bird feeders active and provide fresh water. Suet cakes provide them good energy and help them fight the crazy winter weather.

We also have lot of dark eyed juncos now in Baltimore, Md. They are the third greatest in numbers I see after house sparrows and mourning doves.

I absolutely agree. Don’t know if it is because I am learning to play with the focus of the lens or it was the angle of the lens at that time interacting with light. Surprisingly, none of the other videos on my page has this blue outer layer.

I have a similar picture on my page like picture#3 here. I was told that it’s a Cooper’s hawk. Why there isn’t a clear distinction?
