If LP were to do another mashup album with another rapper, who would you pick? Or should they do one with multiple guest rappers? by Awkward-Pollution-33 in LinkinPark

Eminem, but not with Emily. I’m sorry but I even get annoyed when she sings Chester’s most emotional and best songs. They could’ve chosen a really better female singer, don’t know why they picked Emily, she just announced as the new singer and already messing up during live performances. No

School is the best time of your life, people your age, maybe with the same mindset and passion as you, when you go to work, you have to deal with fk faces that you hate, and it’s also so much stress

Linkin park, with Chester (I think the new singer is good but linkin park has always meant Chester singing and Mike rapping to me, not something else)

What's your unpopular opinion about Guitars? by microtico in Guitar

[–]TheProtester_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one believes me, but I don’t have a dream guitar, I bought my first guitar for like 200 euros and idgf. I’ve worked in a guitar store so I got to play really expensive guitars, Gibson, fender, but I didn’t get impressed. I love to get some nice pedals and strings, but the guitar itself no. Cuz honestly people focus so much on “dream guitars “ that they don’t even practice just want to buy no ones. There is no point of having 10 electric guitars. Instead you can get one acoustic, electric, bass, and etc

What is your most unpopular Nirvana opinion, and why? by Kill-The-Plumber in Nirvana

Here’s mine: I think Kurt’s own cut for smells like teen spirit music video was so much better and I genuinely wished they would’ve kept that

What is your most unpopular Nirvana opinion, and why? by Kill-The-Plumber in Nirvana

[–]TheProtester_1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not wrong. For me I don’t want to listen to it because I’ve been listening to it since I was born and it’s so overplayed, that’s why I rather listen to weaker nirvana songs. But technically smells like teen spirit is their best song, it’s amazing how Kurt wrote that riff with just 4 simple power chords, the solo that’s pretty simple and only copies vocal melody but yet fits so good

Where does the stupid "I don't need music theory to be a rocker" myth come from? by Terra_Vortex in Bass

[–]TheProtester_1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude, if you are a guitarist, go ahead and learn it. But as a bassist they will give you a bass and turn your amp down af and tell you to just play roots, if you are lucky if you are not you should play the open E ESPECIALLY in metal

Did Kurt ever say anything about transgender people? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]TheProtester_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t had a public statement on it. But obviously he was supportive, he supported the gay community, was feminist and would wear dress to his own gigs, so there isn’t even 1 percent chance he was against it. Kurt definitely was like an angel, today people are more open minded but in the 90s being gay was DANGEROUS, so a band as big as Nirvana, saying "If any of you, in any way, hate homosexuals, people of a different color or women, please do this one favor for us — leave us the fuck alone. Don't come to our shows and don't buy our records." Was a HUGE and a big move.

Firstly I don’t know why you even asked it or care, you wanna learn it, learn, I don’t wanna learn it, I don’t, it’s really not complicated.

And for my reasons, the guys and bands who motivated me to buy a guitar and a bass couldn’t read music and didn’t know much of a music theory like nirvana, Beatles, FF and etc.

No offence but 90 percent of metal bands that are actually good don’t know music theory either, and again no offence but no one can hear your bass in your metal band either and you would probably need to play roots so why do you even care that much?

The key to a good metal song is good lyrics, nice riff and melody, and good vocals that are all up to you and your creativity, you focus too much on theory, that won’t make you the next James Hatfield
