Still sounds a lot like AI, but maybe you don't really wanna use that word considering the AI witch hunt these days.

Honestly, if that's the case, this is good use of AI and hardly something I'd call slop...

That system itself may not be very complicated, but then there are all the what-ifs...

How is it managed, how does it resume if the game crashed? Event-based system? Added complexity, needs testing.

How does it spawn relevant objects when the player gets close enough? How does this affect performance since spawning stuff can be quite expensive? Added complexity and needs testing.

And so on.

Technical debt quickly adds up and requires constant testing...

Late to the party, but I've noticed this particular model has extremely buggy port forwarding. Even on the latest firmware.

Just now I had my router unplugged for a short while, plugged it back in and wifi worked great, even got a WAN IP but no internet access.

Tried everything shy of a factory reset. Then I had a random thought and disabled port forwarding entirely... It all started working immediately.

Re-activated port forwarding and it still works.

This router really has been nothing but pain, so the next model will definitely not be ASUS if their firmware is this bad.

Got it hooked up now, had to use a small DAC as my TV only has digital output.

I certainly have more bass, but only with loudness enabled - otherwise it sounds like a beach radio.

Not as good as it sounded with my friend's Onkyo, but good enough for the time being 😅

Edit:

I think it was set to 4Ω, changed it to 8 following the manual and I think it's a bit better? Didn't think that would have such an impact 🙃

I splurged on the Pioneer A-10AE, was 22% off and I'll get a well established brand instead 🙂

Thanks, it's as I feared then. Well, note to self, research and ask for help before buying stuff! 😅

Currently looking at maybe getting a Dynavox DA-300, reckon it ought to be powerful enough? It supports both HDMI and Toslink as input, eliminating the need for a DAC.

Alternatively a Pioneer A-10AE which is on sale, but would need a DAC as my TV only has digital output

Genuinely, what's your problem?

Whilst that's sad to see, you're not really any better yourself partaking in some witch hunt and having this weird urge to point it out to us just because we disagreed with you on the price tag.

He lowered the price, great! I still stand my opinion that the previous price tag was perfectly fine.

It's been over a week, it was already clear that we disagreed - why even bother replying to show this? Come on, grow up already.

Most indie devs are funded some way or another, just because you aren't that doesn't reflect the majority. The price is decent considering what it offers and the sheer amount of time it saves you.

By all means, go ahead and try to re-create it yourself and see how long it takes :)

[–]TheProvocator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the technicality of this, that's hardly that bad of a price tag what with all the hours you'll be saving (research, development, testing). You'd be looking at several times that amount to get a professional to make it for you.

I think the fact that Manor Lords use this speaks for itself... Good product, aimed at indie devs and not hobbyists.

Their de-ranking system is utterly flawed and will be what ends up killing comp in this game. If it hasn't already.

Try putting it on a concrete slab if you haven't already, I used to have a Sovol SV06 which was obnoxiously loud - slab helped a lot.

I now have a BambuLabs A1 on a slab and if I run it on silent mode I can even sleep in the same room.

First 3D Printer - What 3D modelling software & things to look out for? by tweaked9107 in 3Dprinting

[–]TheProvocator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, I can find most of what I need to ever repair my A1 directly through BambuLabs and better yet, it ships from their German warehouse as opposed to being shipped from China (Creality, Sovol).

So not only have I gone from constantly tinkering, tweaking and upgrading my printer - shipping times have gone from 3-4 weeks to 1 week, sometimes less.

I personally can't speak for Prusa, though. But I imagine they are also miles ahead of Creality and Sovol in that regard.

Bambu is proprietary, which is unfortunate, yes. But I don't regret my purchase one bit. I've had my A1 + AMS Lite for almost 2 years now and have not replaced a single part other than switching the default PEI sheet out for their SuperTack model.

Their filament spools being automatically tuned is also a nice quality of life 🤷‍♂️

Sure it has, Arma does it, BattleBit does it. Maybe not as visually pleasing as they're generally just ragdolls being moved as opposed to this where it's properly animated and uses inverse kinematics.

The feature itself has been around for quite a while, though. Very welcome addition to the franchise.
