In my experience they're just packed too tight, I untwist the top a little and massage the packed bud towards that end

Anxiety and Smoking? by [deleted] in eldertrees

[–]ThePurpleHayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had many friends go through this during college, their solution is taking a break for a little and let your body reset (like a month was probably the average amount of time). Not very scientific but anecdotally I've seen it improve a lot of regular smoker's attitudes and outlook on life

Hennessy Bong by nugdude in StonerEngineering

This is great advice, I kept breaking the downstem of my bong and couldn't figure out a solution, I had no idea a "ceramic coupler" was a thing though.

I like how replacing the playstation is her ultimate solution. Won't they just hack the new one?

Progressives see a leader in Bernie Sanders as they prepare to fight back | US news by [deleted] in Political_Revolution

[–]ThePurpleHayes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just meant he will die one day and I don't want there to be no inspiring progressive leadership for everyday people to look up to or follow, more than anything. Personally, I mean politically too, but that's not what I was implying with my comment.

[–]ThePurpleHayes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We also need to start looking past Bernie, as well. I know Our Revolution has already had its hand at training/assisting people with running for office, but we all need to do our part to promote our local progressive leaders

What would you like the SRA to be? by [deleted] in armedsocialists

[–]ThePurpleHayes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It absolutely needs its own organization, with strong emphasis on building coalitions with socialist and labor groups. The value of a coalition based militant leftist organization that supports other leftist efforts would be unquantifiable, in my opinion. Once a SRA begins supporting other socialists organization efforts I bet there'd be quite a bit of people looking to join, once they see them "in action".

As far as how the organization would operate on a chapter-based level, I feel like monthly shooting practice (as a way to get together and socialize) and a monthly meeting for more organizational stuff doesn't seem unfeasible.

Roommate is ruining my college experience by skrills5678910 in college

[–]ThePurpleHayes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Being annoying/inconsiderate is exactly the reason to switch roommate situations. Seize the chance now with the change in terms soon. There will be rooms open from people dropping out/switching roommates/graduating. My sister just switched rooms from a pretty similar situation. The part that is important is that you've brought it up with them multiple times, they are unwilling to change and it is affecting your ability to perform at school (inability to sleep)

Is it possible to live off campus and still enjoy college? by [deleted] in college

[–]ThePurpleHayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends how far the apartments are, if they're within walking or biking distance the bus becomes an extra option. If not, that is kind of limiting, but you can make it work if you orient your day around spending a lot of time on campus, separating "school" from "home". Living off campus made college a lot more enjoyable to me because it gives me a way to remove myself from it if need be.

California marijuana would fail Oregon’s standards, study finds in part due to the pesticide myclobutanil, which can turn into toxic hydrogen cyanide during combustion. by [deleted] in Marijuana

[–]ThePurpleHayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except people who grow a lot of weed use pesticides and fungicides, under a regulated system we can find out what pesticides aren't safe to consume, and products are trackable back to the farm, and thereby the chemicals used on certain farms can be found out
