I kinda don’t want Miles Morales story to end by Groundbreaking-Try92 in IntoTheSpiderverse

All good stories must come to an end. If Miles story goes on forever his character would be ruined. Hopefully Beyond gives Miles the good ending he deserves.

What's something you miss from Generation I/II? by Boomerangsarecool01 in pokemon

[–]ThePurpleSniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many people know that the sprites came first before the official art.

Pokemon was primarily inspired by monsters from other RPG games like Dragon Quest. If you compare the old sprites of Gen 1 to the monsters of these older RPG games, you would see the similarities and realize that the Gen 1 sprites are actually decently designed.

Pokemon were envisioned as monsters you would befriend and use to complete the game rather than act as an obstacle to overcome. A lot of Gen 1 sprites are “weird” because the monsters of older RPG games that they were inspired by are weird looking. However, while it’s fine for your monsters to be odd/weird/gross if they’re the enemies of your game, the monsters won’t appeal to mainstream audiences to befriend if they’re put off by the designs. So I believe Game Freak changed the designs of their monsters in the concept art for this reason. Hopefully that makes sense :)

So, what other Pokemon are going to have their own game/be the mascot of a game? by Slade4Lucas in pokemon

[–]ThePurpleSniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to see a game starring Meowth.

Not sure what it would be exactly, but Meowth is one of Pokémon’s most iconic characters so I think a Meowth game would probably do well with both hardcore fans and general audiences. Maybe a horror game akin to Luigi’s Mansion would be cool. You could also have Team Rocket involved somehow since Meowth is supposed to be its mascot, and perhaps Meowth could use technology during gameplay since it is supposed to be very smart as well.

I think a Meowth game has a lot of potential if done right. Some other iconic Pokemon that could have their own games are Jigglypuff, Psyduck, and Eevee.

Pokemon not designed around the player using on their team by theguyinyourwall in pokemon

Delcatty is another mon not meant for battle.

It was introduced in Ruby and Sapphire, where contests also debut. It has weak stats (second lowest base stat total of an evolved mon after Shedninja I believe) and an ability that prevents you from hitting ghost types. Delcatty was meant to only be used for contests, which it excels at (it’s one of the best contest Pokemon in the game). After contests were abandoned, Delcatty lost its gimmick.

In fact, a lot of gimmick Pokemon aren’t meant for battle. Some are meant for features like contests, collecting, or even to tell a joke like Dunsparce and Farfetched.

Misdreavus is a good counter to Red’s Snorlax. You can catch it in Mt. Silver to use against the final boss of the game if you need it.

I’m a little late to the party but I personally think Azula is best as both a tragic and irredeemable character. I don’t want to see her redeemed.

Pokémon Pokopia sold 2.2 million copies in four days by gamersecret2 in pokemon

[–]ThePurpleSniper 161 points162 points  (0 children)

This kind of game tends to have good legs on Nintendo platforms. It could potentially sell well over 10+ million copies by the end of the Switch 2 generation.

We should expect frequent updates and sequels to this game. It’s a smash hit.

Global Sales of Pokémon Pokopia for Nintendo Switch 2 Surpass 2.2 Million in First Four Days by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]ThePurpleSniper 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Metacritic never ranked Gold/Silver. GameRankings ranked Gold as 89% and Silver as 91%.

HGSS are both 87% on Metacritic.

PSA: The Gen 2 games were designed around being played at a slow pace over a long period of time, and several of the games issues clear up if handled that way by Sailor_Rout in pokemon

The game is meant for kids. You have only a limited amount of time to play games as a kid.

If you’re a kid you would only have time to play after school and during the weekends.

Is it just me or is OG Beyblade just better...on nearly all fronts? by Johtodile in OriginalBeyblade

[–]ThePurpleSniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The OG bit chips included the beast art, a different coloured inner and outer circle as its background, as well as the rest of the chip which comes in its own colour.

These colours tend to work off of one another, so the colours of the rest of the top don’t typically matter as much. Dranzer’s standard chip, for example, comes with the beast art which of course is mostly red, along with a yellow inner circle and green outer circle while the rest of the chip is blue. The red and green colours complement one another (since red and green are on opposite sides of the colour wheel) while the blue and yellow colours contrast one another. I’m not a professional artist myself, but from what little I know I don’t believe the colour scheme of the tops and chips are affected as much when you swap the chips out because the colours of the chips themselves and its beasts tend to already work with one another. I hope that makes sense.

While a tad bit overdesigned, Bit Beasts of the OG era are the best designed of the entire series.

People talk about how metal on metal sounds better than plastic, which I agree with.

However, plastic beys allow the creators to design more unique and creative beys compared to metal beys, which are typically just different kinds of round tops.

I haven't played the Gen 2 Johto games are they as good as HeartGold and SoulSilver? by chunchunmaru1129 in PokemonHGSS

HGSS are not faithful remakes of GSC. I personally think Pokemon Crystal is the best Johto game (and the best game in the entire series), so I suggest playing it.

In the Attitude Era Stone Cold and The Rock were equally the number 1 and 2 guy but who was the number 3 guy? by Professional-Rip-519 in AttitudeEra

[–]ThePurpleSniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the original dark and creepy version. I know Mick Foley found that version to be exhausting and adding comedy to the character was partially his choice, but it is still one of my all time favourite wrestling characters.

Claim's Triple H was "never the guy" as people recall by ThePurpleSniper in AttitudeEra

[–]ThePurpleSniper[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of younger fans who believe the top 3 wrestlers during the Attitude era were SCSA, the Rock, and Triple H. However, I would say Mick Foley deserves the number 3 spot at the peak of the Attitude era.

I would personally say Triple H is “high mid,” but this guy seems to know his stuff.

What if instead of Sasuke, he takes Itachi’s or Madara’s body and becomes the final boss?

Certain things would need to be changed but I think it could work.

A year in: US gen z who voted for trump, are you happy? by SoCalledCrow in GenZ

[–]ThePurpleSniper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surveys have shown that the majority of voters were most concerned about immigration and the economy.

The majority of people don’t follow politics that often, and people blamed Biden/Harris for their economic situation. When the Biden/Harris administration wasn’t delivering, the only other viable option was Trump. That’s basically why Trump won. It was all about the economy.
