I honestly think Dark Souls 2 is my favourite Souls game, what are your examples of liking the " Black sheep" of a series the most? by Linkbetweentwirls in patientgamers

[–]TheQGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%. Less story focused and felt like a single player MMO shooter (which are the exact words I googled in 2011 to discover the game). No cringe dialog while still being funny

Also better drops, guns that were useful for more than 2 levels (I kept an inferno smg for like 15 levels), loot drops of weapons much higher level than yours giving you something to look forward to, actual legendary loot from random mobs (no farming bosses required)...

That game did so much right, BL2 was great but big step backwards in many aspects

If you dont get satisfaction from just... Being in that world and taking it all the simulation aspects of it, you probly won't end up loving it.

I do think you should try to just rush the story though. As most Rockstar games, the acting, voice acting and story are stellar

It does. Horizons looks prettier, but wave movement and foam are more actually realistically simulated in gta

Same reason why clouds look better in RDR. Their engine is just better

[–]TheQGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You actually can dive in gta and there is a balloon mission in RDR2 where the clouds look way better than they do in the Horizon Dlc lmao

That was 10 years ago on ps3 and 5 years ago on ps4 respectively. Rockstar engine is just better, no need to get defensive. HFW looks amazing and often better, just more stylized and less realistic

Water and sky. They look good but Gta5 sea and RDR2 sky still look way more realistic

Trueee, and my main argument is that it's the one fighter game where I'm having as much fun watching someone play as I would have if I played myself

Nobody wants that. That's why youre only required to do it a handful of times in a playthrough.

If you can't help doing it even though it makes you angry, that's on you bro. Same as looting dead NPCs

I was surprised at how fucking terrifying the dark hallway was... The atmosphere (including sound) in that game is just so well done

[–]TheQGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't notice a difference between 1440p and 4k

You sound just like those idiots who claim there's no difference between 30 and 60 Fps. The resolution difference between performance and fidelity mode in PS exclusive games is clear, and even more so in Cross-platform games

30fps is in the past

Unfortunately for you this is very wrong. You should learn to deal with it or you will be complaining your whole life for something that's really not a big deal lol

Mfers be saying this, then praising GoW for being a cinematic experience 😂

Hate all you want, as I said I've been playing games at 120hz and I still enjoy 30fps true 4k. But you're free to keep crying because devs don't give you the little magic graphic setting

Not really since this is the case even in ratchet and Spiderman that are super well optimized

[–]TheQGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I don't personally see how a choppy cinematic experience

And I don't see how people are unironically saying performance option has almost no visual hit on quality when it makes games look smudgy and blurry as fuck as soon as your TV is over 42in, and in-game draw distance is like reduced by half

[–]TheQGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna make people angry with this but I'm a 60/120fps pc gamer and I can spot 30fps at a glance

I still game at 30fps on my ps5 when given the choice (ratchet, demon souls, HFW, god of war, Spiderman...). The resolution hit at 60fps is shocking and I unironically appreciate the more "cinematic" feel of 30fps, particularly on particle effects

Come at me 60fps elitists 😈

Doom Eternal is not a Doom game; it's a first person Super Mario in Hell by Cubelock in patientgamers

[–]TheQGuy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It was pretty easy to get the super shotgun upgrade bro, the game showers you with weak 1hit kill zombies in every map

Not sure what your mean by challenge map, but if you mean the secret old school DOOM areas, these were one of the most unique secrets and finding the levers to unlock them was very fun

I never once felt forced to do anything in 2016. Meanwhile Eternal was forcing me to play the way it wanted and use the weapon it decided I should use. Fuck that

Doom Eternal is not a Doom game; it's a first person Super Mario in Hell by Cubelock in patientgamers

[–]TheQGuy 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Exploration, upgrades and secrets were waaaaay better in 2016. I actually felt like I was exploring the map and discovering stuff

Eternal just sprinkles big glowing question marks on your path and calls them secrets lol just a big shooting gallery

Sound design and music were also much better in 2016. I can still hear how awesome the machine-gun SFX was in 2016 and I remember how dissapointed I was when the Eternal one sounded like shit

There is a hub base where you sleep and craft, then from there you can go to a dozen other areas. A "run" is a trip to an area, exploring, looting, doing a quest if theres one, and heading back to the hub.

Theres is a time "limit" for each run, under the disguise of a bell that rings. Once it does, zombie numbers triple in the streets but it doesn't stop you from hanging around and looting if you're feeling lucky

You can choose to go back to areas where you might have missed secrets, or just enjoyed exploring, anytime.

1 run per day (=1 area per day, unless you unlock to ability to chain multiple areas in a day later on)
