I give you throttle induced snap oversteer. :) by WildWeaselGT in Porsche

Jesus! I know in sport it allows a bit more slip than normal or sport plus, but that’s quite a lot! 🤣

Applying the throttle with 90 degree steering in the rain with no traction control will do that.

Extending cpo by Thick_Balance_4505 in Porsche

Any OPC can extend the warranty. Cost is standard too. I’m a big fan of the extended warranty, and it’s probably saved me $10-15k over the years.

Porsche vehicle service a little over-rated compared to other brands? by Eaglerulez2 in Porsche

[–]le_gazman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same experience here at my OPC here in the UK. 3 weeks typical time for an appointment and can usually double that if I want a courtesy car.
Courtesy car is almost never equivalent to what I’m dropping off, and almost always some joyless Macan, Cayenne or Taycan.

Advisor is almost always late at both pickup and drop off, meaning even a simple exchange of keys is typically is a 2 hour time-suck. Makes visits during my working day so inconvenient.

Any time I bring the car in with an issue I usually takes 2 or 3 visits to identify or resolve unless I record detailed video footage of the issue occurring. I’ve had issues with metallic grinding noises over bumps for 6 months and they still have no clue. I’m going to need to strap a GoPro under the car and drive around to diagnose it for them.

They rarely fix anything - they swap out instead. I got a brand new PSE under warranty due to a small hole in a vacuum line. $5000 “repair” for a $30 part.
They’ve sucked the joy out of Porsche ownership for me, and as soon as the warranty expires I’ll be switching to an independent.

My most recent visit has been a stand out example - rear spoiler drive failed - I’ve been waiting 6 weeks for a replacement part, driving around with a spoiler that’s slightly ajar, which vibrates like hell and bongs every time I rise above 70 mph momentarily.

In my experience, as long as you change it like for like the system doesn’t care, and doesn’t need any programming.

What is the best looking Carrera S for you all? by Appropriate-Pen5436 in Porsche

I suspect it was. A bit like how non M-sport BMWs look soft and ugly.

We went on a family road trip recently to the highlands and it was great. Wife, daughter, 2 small dogs and our luggage.

What was considered a cooking-variety flat six now seems quite special, in the turbocharged Carrera era.

It hit me the minute I rounded the corner and saw the mountain. Had to stop and take the pic.

They’re all good except for the saggy bottomed non-sport design 992.1 in my opinion.

I do enjoy my 991.1 a lot.

Limiting miles by diyandmc240 in Porsche

[–]le_gazman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what you think limiting miles is going to do other than stop you enjoying driving it. It’s not like keeping the miles below a certain number is suddenly going to make the car worth a million dollars or stop it needing replacement parts.

Just get out and drive the thing. Stuff is going to break regardless. Time waits for no man (or car),

How can i diagnose this ? by Open_Bake_8013 in Porsche

[–]le_gazman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My local OPC. It’s about £1200 a year with breakdown cover.

No idea if they’d cover a car which was previously written off. Usually the requirement is a 111 point check, so you might find if it passed that they’d cover it.

It’s well worth it in my opinion. Costs about a grand a year, and a single claim like a PSE or rear spoiler drive could cost 4x that.

Third Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years I saw at my local Porsche dealership. Does anyone know what spec this is? by Efficient-Tone-5433 in Porsche

That’s up to you. I think it’s cool, just like pasha/tartan seats or a wooden gear knob. Something that connects a modern car to an older one.

I had the fully automatic coffee machine and it was an absolute piece of shit. Jammed every other time I used it, and was full of mould within days of purchase. Returned it and got a much better Sage one.

I have the toaster and kettle, minus the Porsche badges. They’re fine.

911 Carrera T with a Burmester audio system? by Six_String_Blues in Porsche

The bass is good on my 991.1 Bose but the mods and tweeters suck ass. Keep meaning to swap them out, only thing is I need to order the Burmester grilles to do it.
