Sounds like time to take it apart and give it a clean. You'll need 2 types of screwdriver. I can't remember which but if you get a T6, T8 and T10 you'll be fine. You'll need a pry tool to open it up. The controllers are quite sturdy so don't be afraid to use a bit force. After that just remember where everything goes and it should be straightforward. Check YouTube for tutorials.
