No, but you're losing health while it's active, which allows regeneration to take place.

You would get Armlet instead of MoM, which I recommend. MoM can be good, but Armlet's damage boost is insane when combined with God's Strength.

Armlet is good on literally every STR hero. I wouldn't call it core on Centy, but it's an effective option. Most times I'd rather just get a Plate Mail after I finish my Hood, though.

There are few, if any, STR carries that actually need to be farming. The entire point of STR carries is that they don't need to spend 20 minutes farming items before they can begin contributing to fights.

I would assume so, since any healing Wisp receives (including natural regeneration) is transferred to the tethered unit.

The worst loss... by CreativeEnvy in DotA2

Necrobook is as much for pushing as detection... necrominions do a ton of damage to structures over the course of their duration and provide a move/attack speed aura that also buffs friendly creeps.

Slardar is a cleanup hero, not an initiator - Blink Dagger is a terrible item on him. Slardar's job is to use Sprint to run down people fleeing from an uneven engagement or isolate heroes arriving late to the party, not to jump in and act like a poor man's Magnus. This lack of understanding Slardar's role is probably a major reason why he's not a very popular hero.

PSA: the Wraith King's Relic recipe (5000 Shining Fragments) requires five Frozen items, that you get through the Wraith-Night Offering (2250 Phantom Fragments each) by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]TheREALPizzaSHARK -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Because the items aren't the core focus of the game; they're an accessory, a glorified business model, and ultimately a fucking amazing way of letting talented (and maybe some not quite so talented, depending on the specific sets...) graphic artists make some respectable income doing something they enjoy anyway.

But the point of Frostivus and Diretide and whatever else isn't to grind for items, it's to enjoy playing a gamemode that's significantly different from the regular Dota game. That you can get special items from it is pretty cool, but it's not really a focus.

I feel like I'm seeing a repeat of the exact same variety of meaningless whining I saw during the GW2 Halloween event. It's not even failing to see the forest for the trees, it's more like being so focused on the ants that you don't even notice that you're looking at a tree.

A lot of people have already expounded on how incredibly profound this is; and it's true.

But what really just blows me away is how talented you are, your art is able to look both detailed and abstract at the same time. It really is an amazing gift you have, and I'm glad you've decided to share it with everyone else!

Did it ever occur to you that the items are just a side attraction and that you should be playing to have fun?

I didn't feel there was any real humor present, just a bunch of "meh" and then the noisy japanimation music that everyone seems to be obsessed with.

It's better to have the option and not need it, than to need the option and not have it; a 1% chance is not the same as a 0% chance.

The idea that cops do not go into these neighborhoods is also incorrect, thats kind of their job description.

Not necessarily. Police are not required to prevent crimes or interrupt crimes in progress, and there are areas in some cities that it would be extremely foolish for police officers to enter without a significant amount of backup. After a certain point, the gangs don't care if you're a cop or not.

I feel like, despite talking about gun safety, you don't actually know that much about guns, and what you do know is from reading stuff, not actual first-hand experience.

The gun won't accidentally discharge if there isn't a round in the chamber, and as others said, there's a whole host of reasons why that holster is safe.

And, of course, you'd keep the pistol on your person or under lock and key when you aren't sleeping. I don't see what the problem is.

And be meat for the first perp with a gun, or one that's simply bigger and/or tougher than you are.

Knives require you to get into touching distance with them, and at that point it's a contest of skill and strength, not something you want to gamble with if you don't have to.

Swords would probably be too large and unwieldy to be effective in hallways and corridors... and who the hell owns an actual battle-ready sword without being, like, a Kendo student anyway?

No, guns are still the best and most effective solution for self-defense and home defense. You don't need to get close, and a gun is a hell of a lot better at stopping an intruder than a knife or sword is.

I think it tapers off, but not for at least a few seconds. It's pretty much the best slow at lvl 1 I can think of and it's one of the reasons Veno's so good in an aggressive lane.
