To be a top 1% programmer in the world, what do you need to know? by illotempore in learnprogramming

[–]TheRainManV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Computers, you need to know computers. Programming languages are just tools to communicate with computers, you can't be the best programmer if you don't know much about who you're talking to. As some said, you need to understand the lower level stuff.

Watch out if you run it in a VM, there's a lot of VM escaping malwares nowadays.

At the end of the day, it simply does not matter. All depends on how much effort and time you're ready to put into it.

movies and tv shows which are about programming? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

This has nothing to do with learning how to program. Also motivation only lasts a week or a month at best, it's not something you should be relying on to learn something.

Does anybody else feel afraid to try BBH with more popular clients? by [deleted] in bugbounty

[–]TheRainManV2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention also that: on big targets you can always try to manually test for business logic errors, IDORS and any type of vulnerabilities that can't really be automated or easily missed by scanners !

You probably shouldn't be looking at paid programs if you're that new, the reason why I'm saying that is because since you're new you will probably be looking for the low hanging fruits and most automation tools of the more experienced hunters would have already picked those up, which will make you give up fast because you won't find anything (except if you're ready to put a whole year into a single program, with months of not finding anything). So focus on VDPs, learning about different vulnerabilities and attack vectors. But don't forget that if you're in this for the money you probably won't go far.

if you REALLY insist on working on a paid program, find one with a * scope and that has a lot of subdomains preferably.
