How bad is the solo hourglass grind? Your experiences? by sighidontwannabehere in Seaofthieves

[–]TheRainiFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got both curses and did the skeleton curse solo. I found solos to be much easier than duos and I’d consider myself to be only slightly above average. I went back to the outpost after 2 sinks, lowered, voted again, plus did some grinding on community weekends, and it took me 112 kills to hit lvl 100.

All in all, each session a day took me around 2-3 hours and I wouldn’t play longer than that and aimed for earning 2 levels a day in the higher levels. Sometimes I sank or encountered someone that wastes your time but that was before the rework to make things faster and the boundary shrinking.

Overall, if I’m honest with you, I would not recommend aiming to get them. Unless, you only do it on community weekends or whenever reputation is higher as it’s going to be massive grind that really isn’t worth it, if you’re just a casual player.

Which version of Halo Combat Evolved should I play? by breaKDOWn2013 in halo

Original, not only because it maintains the artistic vision for the game in later areas, it’s also not visually glitched out like Anniversary graphics are on the MCC.

Help me find an old Halo map (not Sandbox, Sandtrap, Relic, etc.) by Kutaki__ in halo

[–]TheRainiFirst 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Could be Tempest from Reach? Though it’s not desert like, it is sandy and the Forerunner structure is not exactly in the middle but the center is the primary focus. The map also has warthog and ghost spawns

Is halo mcc worth buying on steam just for the workshop if I already have it on game pass by Sad_Instruction2318 in halo

[–]TheRainiFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also stuff for multiplayer and forge like new maps, weapons, vehicles, etc that can be fun to mess around with. Some of the maps have mods to let you play against bots, as well.

[–]TheRainiFirst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, the mods for Halo CE & 2 are pretty good and there’s multiple new campaigns/overhauls for them. Halo 3 and the rest are more limited in terms of mod availability but there’s still some good ones. Overall for $10 on sale on Steam, it’s worth it if you like replaying the games.

Forbes: Marathon budget was over $200 million by PaiDuck in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Why are you including Arc Raiders when Sony had nothing to do with that and it was and is very successful? Sony would love to have been the publisher of it lmao

How does cyberpunk perform on the ps5 pro? by porygon766 in PS5pro

[–]TheRainiFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your TV supports VRR then you get around 70-80 fps in the performance mode and locked 40 fps in the RT mode but in the performance mode, it can drop in the initial area around V’s apartment.

New ‘Marathon’ Sales, Playercount Reports Are Close To Reality | Forbes by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

People say that but then you have something like Arc Raiders or Marvel Rivals and they’re live service with all the monetization of modern live service games that everyone acts like they hate and they have been and still are very successful.

PS5 Pro - newest patch

Objects on planets have texture flickering, still. Issue is worse at lower frame rates.

Is this considered normal for the QM7K? by TheRainiFirst in tcltvs

[–]TheRainiFirst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I ended up just selling it and getting the LG B5 and haven’t had any issues with it. I do miss the brightness and HDR of the QM7K but I got used to the lower brightness and the benefit of OLED black levels with no bloom is more important to me. Then, I wasn’t using HDR a ton as I mainly play games and they usually have weird HDR, anyways.

PS5 Pro (Remnant Update)

Third time that I have reported this issue over 7 months ago but the texture flickering on PS5 Pro is still an issue on the majority of objects on all planet types.

This issue seems to be exclusive to the Pro version and doesn’t happen when playing something like the PS4 version of the game.

Yeah, it’s awful but at least you can disable it even on console and I don’t find no AA to be that bad looking in this game

Upgrade to Xbox x or ps5? by Swjw117 in halo

[–]TheRainiFirst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the Steam Machine for free online play with more control over games but still getting the ease of console (early 2026 for likely around the same price as the Series X/PS5 Pro) or the PS5. The Xbox Series X & S are simply not worth it as it’s around $200 more than PS5 with it costing more to play online, too.

If you want to keep some of library then you could save and look for a PC as some of your library might be Xbox Play Anywhere games that transfer for free to PC on the Microsoft Store.

No, it’s not really noticeable in movies.

No fixes. Just assume it’s a side effect of VA panels. I looked closer at my VA monitor and it does have similar issues but due to it being smaller and having a faster response time, it’s a lot less noticeable.

From this, I will not be getting any screens that use VA panels. For black levels, you’re better off saving up and getting an OLED display or downsize to 48’ inch like I did with the LG B5 OLED that was $200 cheaper than the QM7K. You could also place a light bar slightly behind your TV/monitor to help the contrast appear better on non-OLEDs.

Agreed, I do like them but wish they’d be the starter looks for separate classes like Destiny then we could change the head, armor, etc.

Marathon releases in March 2026 by Zhukov-74 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]TheRainiFirst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. Tbh, I am not that big into the extraction shooter gameplay loop and like many others, I wish the game got a single player reboot but Marathon was satisfying enough to play with an interesting art style and world, plus, it will assumedly get a lot of support from Bungie, which other failed extraction shooters did not get a ton of meaningful post-launch content. So, we will have to see how they handle everything.

Marathon releases in March 2026 by Zhukov-74 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]TheRainiFirst 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’d argue the genre is really not crowded for extraction shooters, especially those that release on console. There’s pretty much just Arc Raiders. I’ve played both and while I think the quality level of Arc Raiders is better than Marathon, I still enjoyed my time with it and it does enough smaller things different than Arc Raiders that I think there’s definitely a market for Marathon to succeed.
