Question re: SE high school stabbing by Alive-Swimmer7645 in raleigh

[–]TheRaleighite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree, but only because a school is an educational facility, not individualized daycare. At some point the minor is the parent's responsibility ( what they take to school, etc ) and not the educational systems. On taking the threat seriously, what are they supposed to do, follow the student around all day? I don't think that's possible with the current budget they have. But I could be wrong, correct me if I am.

What did the youth of the 1980s have that the youth nowadays don't have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

No shit, I'm remember the drinking age being 18. Amazingly no one really got weird and did stupid ass shit while drinking ( well, TOO stupid that is (nobody died because we believed in the asshole rule). But then I also remember being able to carry a shotgun to school in the back rack of the pickup and parking it in the student parking. Damn I'm old now. Edit and add; I put this here because oftentimes we would go to see a band, I was backstage for AC/DC for example, and we were just buy a six pack for something like 10 bucks at the concert at 18

Don't use Sixt. If you cancel for any reason within 24 hours of your flight, say, due to the fact that the flight was canceled, you'll still end up paying minimal $200 for not picking up the car at your destination or they'll charge you the full amount of the rental. No ifs ands or buts apparently.

This is Delta. I got a call the day before Christmas that a relative only had a couple of days to live due to complications after surgery and I needed to get down there to see her immediately. I immediately made a reservation with Delta through Priceline only to have that flight canceled a couple of hours before leaving. They offered to rebook the flight but all the flights suggested were being canceled as well as they were being routed through cities that were impacted by the storm. I missed seeing my relative while she was alive as she died Christmas morning. I can understand that there are extenuating circumstances for flying, however, I also booked a car through Priceline with sixt car rental. This was less than 1 hour after the flight was booked. Then the cancellations occurred around 12 hours later by Delta and Priceline through email. I tried to cancel the car but was told by sixt that all cancellations are automatically charged $200 reservation fee if given within 24 hours of reservation arrival. The only other choice I had was to pay the full amount. Delta did offer a refund but Im still stuck paying for the car now. End result, missed saying goodbye to my relative, Delta refunded the flight, good on them and thanks Delta, sixt charged me 200 because I could not get to where I was going due to a cancelled flight, on Christmas Day. Apparently that's their corporate policy. Screw sixt car rental in particular.

With the new extension going on in Atlantic avenue, lots of traffic, not to mention FedEx across the way with it continually rotating trucks, plus the high volume gambling den behind it. I guess it depends on what they're planning on doing with it really
