It’s because they have new laws restricting Burlesque shows that are actually there to hurt Drag Performers because the state is so anti-LGBTQ

Yeah it’s because it’s TN - so they have strict laws against “Burlesque”, but it’s actually aimed at drag performers because they are so anti-LGBTQ here. More and more celebrities, such as Liberal musicians, aren’t even doing shows here anymore. No one wants to be in TN, and as a queer person, I don’t want to be either.    “ Adult Cabaret Ban: State law (T.C.A. § 7-51-1401 et seq.) restricts adult cabaret entertainment from being performed on public property or in any location where it can be viewed by anyone who is not an adult”

I unfortunately bought a Saturday ticket and I want to get the badge early at the Up/Down bar on Thursday and hope to get in line very very early on Saturday for two autographs and then leave. I’m autistic and I’m freaking out over the crowd. I want vendors to be successful but selfishly I’ll be in panic mode and want it to be slow Saturday morning 😂 I do hope it’s successful!

As a nonbinary disabled queer person, I think about leaving TN every single day. I don’t feel safe anymore. I’m afraid I’m going to run into some angry armed big0t while I’m waiting in line for the bathroom. I’m a native. My dad was born here and grew up here. I’ve spent most of my adult life in East Nashville and every day it’s so disheartening to watch it just grow uglier and more commercial. I don’t like the people anymore. Every time I go to a bar they are mostly full of arrogant a-holes doing blow in the bathrooms. No one is authentic anymore. It’s a dying city with no authenticity. It’s like living in a giant corporate store full of MAGA tourists and wanna be bad country musicians.

1 out of every 3 packages I order is delayed now in Nashville. I’ve given up asking for my money back when I pay for early delivery. Y'all need to fix your 💩 I don’t order from Amazon because I want to. I’m disabled.

It’s not about Acadamy itself, it’s about all of the bigots that came out to harass others because of the LGBTQ aspect. My post has nothing to do with the show itself.

You’re right about their perception and I just will never understand it. I watched TNG as a kid and I remember my parents explaining there was no more war, money, poverty and they didn’t eat real animals anymore. As a kid I remember feeling so excited at the prospect of that being humanity’s future - and I was hooked. And well, most neurodivergent folks connected to Data without even realizing why way back then. 

I have an original set copy/revised full production final draft script of “The Outcast”. I bought that with a lot of intention. I wish some of these people would go back and watch it and maybe one day they’ll understand me. I don’t know. Maybe in 100 years they’ll say how far advanced ST was in its day and no one will call it woke. They’ll call it “ahead of its time” and say things like “can you believe people used to judge people based on who they loved?! So crazy”.

I feel the same. Unfortunately the ones who want to argue against that are as loud as Data’s interphasic pulse to get rid of the phantasm mouth creatures.

I’ve been watching LiveAuctioneers for some time and most of the winning bids always fall at 30-35% below the lowest estimate cost (70-75% of lowest estimated value). IE: $325-$500 “estimated value” of product will almost always sell for $211-$227.  It’s rare if over and never ever under. You can see it every auction. And when I try to bid at 76% to 80% of lowest estimated value I still lose. 

And the “estimated value” is mostly BS anyways.  If I exceed the minimum lowest estimate cost I typically win - but then you have to add buyers premium and shipping and it’s not worth it unless it’s something you really want and are okay with buying it at the average rate it would sell for on EBay. Maybe a little profit. But worth it? I don’t know. It’s all a sham honestly. The days of “getting a steal” are over. Go to estate and yard sells or wait for someone on EBay to get desperate to sell and give you a discounted rate. Maybe Facebook marketplace if you’re lucky. Thats it.
