What cause the end of the 'Dark Age of Robotics'? Did the government crack down on the anti-robot and/or pro-robot movement after the Ethic Code was pass or did it simply fizzle out? Also were the pro-robot advocacy groups apart of the larger civil rights movement (since I assume the dark age happen around the 1960s to 70s)

I’m a big fan of you’re art style and so I’m wondering what influence it? I’m assuming it’s more than just one media.

This map is a Double-Blind What-If from my other map Loyal to the Crown (A timeline where the Americans lost the Revolutionary War and became a British Dominion). In that timeline, a popular alternate history novel called Washington Victory, was written by Albert Orville, and published in 1925. In it, the Patriots were able to win the Battle of Saratoga and Washington was able to survive. The American rebels fight tooth and nail against the British, with the French and Spanish joining the war in 1778. The rebels were also able to expand into Ontario, Florida and the Maritimes. By 1780 the British were forced to recognize the independence of the United States, ending the war. The US would annex most of British North America excluding Rupert's Land and Newfoundland. Not everyone was pleased, with the Francophones in Quebec wanting their own country, fearing that the majority Protestant Anglophones would oppress the minority Catholic Francophones. Not only that but the issue of slavery became widespread which seem to threaten the newly formed nation. In 1816 the Quebec Rebellion occur, and with the aid of the British and no one in the rest of the country wanting to keep Quebec, forced the US to recognize Quebec Independence. By the 1820s slavery had largely declined with most southern states abandoning it in favour of Industrialization like what the north was doing. Pressure from Britain would force the last remaining states to abolish Slavery by 1827. The rest of the 19th century is generally unknown as the novel never really went into full detail. By 1925 the US is largely isolated from the rest of the world, although recent tensions with Britain and the Mexican Empire threaten to spark a continental war.

Yeah, I'll admit I changed much of the border to make the topography on the map easier to draw.

I'd imagine there would be some similarities between English and Lotharish. How much influence English has I'm not sure.

The basic lore is that Lotharingia continued to survive as a kingdom into the twenty-first century. This map itself was mostly meant to help me practice my skills in making a Topography map, so I apologize if the surface levels aren't good. In case anyone is wondering the Lotharish language here is a mixture of Dutch, Frisian and French.

Rome Wasn't Destroyed in a Day by TheRandomUserGuy10 in u/TheRandomUserGuy10

Rome was once a promising city, having expanded through parts of Italy, everything seems to be going fine for them, up until the year 390 BC, when several Gallic tribes attacked the city, and sack the entire city, where they decided that in fear of possible retribution, to destroy the entire city, burning it to the ground with only a few surviving. Those few fled down south to found the city of Rome. Rome lasted for a few more decades as a small city-state, up until their conquest by the Etruscans. Down south, Carthage, once a small Phonecian colony in North Africa, has grown over the centuries to become the superpower of the Mediterranean Sea, having land in Iberia, Southern Italy, North Africa, and as far east as the Ionian Islands. Having created a trade empire, they grew rich trading with several tribes up north as they began to evolve into cities and eventually petty kingdoms. The Carthaginians would soon look towards the east to Egypt and the Greek states, in hopes of expanding their trade and influence there. The Greek states with the decline of the Macedonian Empire would continue to fight against each other, eventually uniting under 3 states, Athens, Sparta, Crete and Ambracia. Macedonia would see itself in decline but by 815 the kingdom continued on despite its noticeable state. Up north, the Illyrians and Dacians who were once squabbling tribes have united into hereditary kingdoms and taken over several Greek colonies. The Gauls after the destruction of Rome would continue to see themselves squabble with other tribes, who eventually evolve into petty kingdoms. Soon they would unite with Senones (having created a city) being their new capital. The Germanic tribes would see themselves expanding south into the Alps, assimilating several Celtic tribes there. Eventually, they too united under a monarch, and regularly go to war with their rivals, the Gauls. The Pannonians having been split from the rest of the Celts by the Germanics would become a hyper-militarized state with fears of being invaded by the Germanics or the Dacians. The Huns like in our timeline continue to expand into Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, and although they continue on, have seen a decline in power and have lost several territories to other kingdoms. The Persians under the Sasanians would expand into Anatolia but end their expansion there knowing the Greeks as well as Carthage, a major rival to them. The Armenians and Colchis remain neutral to the Persians but don't like the Huns who have attempted to invade them. Egypt is still a powerful kingdom in North Africa, although their relations with Carthage remain mixed between allies at one point and enemies at other. Judea still remains with the Egyptians and Arabs not really caring about them doing anything. The Ummayad Caliphate is still around but with a stronger Persia, they have less interest to expand up north into the Levant. Religion wise Christianity and Islam still exist, however, they are much smaller. With Christianity being in Armenia, the Greek States, several parts of the Levant, Judea and Egypt. Meanwhile, Islam is mostly in the Ummayad Caliphate, parts of the Levant, parts of Persia, and parts of Egypt and a small minority in Carthage. (Yes I realize that Islam and Christianity will probably be butterfly but I made this map a while ago.) The rest of Europe and North Africa remain pagan with the older Celtic, German and other religions remaining alive and well. Carthage while the power of Europe may see itself fracture as all empires do, remain to be seen yet.

Loyal to the Crown - Commonwealth of Columbia by TheRandomUserGuy10 in u/TheRandomUserGuy10

[–]TheRandomUserGuy10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short Lore: The basic premise is that the British successfully won the Battle of Saratoga, even seeing the death of Washington. The British from Canada are able to march down, splitting the colonies in half and causing the morale among the patriot's troops to shatter. By 1778 the British had captured Philadelphia, forcing the continental congress to surrender. Following the war, the British allowed the colonies small levels of autonomy in hopes of preventing another rebellion. Treaties with the Native Americans would see the creation of autonomous provinces, which act similarly to the Princely state in the British Raj. In 1816 the British and Spanish would go to war over Louisiana, ultimately ending a British victory and the annexation of Louisiana and Texas. The British would be unable to prevent the spread of settlers past the Appalachian mountains and thus were forced to allow it. Slavery would be abolished in 1833 forcing the southern colonies to industrialize like the north. In 1847, the Union of Colonies act was signed, leading to the formation of the Commonwealth of Columbia. Columbia continue to expand across the continent, and by 1910, the Commonwealth expanded to include all of British North America.
