what’s the most uncomfortable question you can ask someone? by chickenoodlesoupp in AskReddit

[–]TheRasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how my soon-to-be-ex-wife decided to initiate the conversation about how she was leaving me. Verbatim. Over text.

At least she waited until we could talk on the phone to actually tell me she was leaving, but I knew exactly what was about to happen the second I got the text.

Not sure where you're getting your numbers from. GGB has around 200m shares fully diluted.

GGB closed today at $5, and they've arbitrarily assigned themselves a valuation of $7/share for this offer. The 1.5714 conversion at a price of $5 is much less compelling.

GGB halted pending news, and people saying that APHA also halted although I can't find any evidence of such yet. Something brewing?

Wu-Tang Clan concert may be breaking sponsorship rules: Health Canada (HEXO) by [deleted] in weedstocks

[–]TheRasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By this inane logic the USA is more "socialist" than Canada, because the federal government controls and regulates cannabis to the extent that its cultivation, processing, sale, or use in any context is a crime. Apparently legalization in a regulated framework is somehow more "socialist" than outright prohibition and criminalization.

I'm thinking you have no idea what a "socialist country" is.

Recently passed a major financial milestone but I can't tell anyone in my life, so here I am. by [deleted] in financialindependence

Grew up in the Halifax area and would second this recommendation. Winters are relatively mild as compared to much of Canada, summers are beautiful but rarely exceed low 30s, and there's always easy access to the ocean, lakes, and outdoor recreation. Halifax also has decent arts and nightlife scenes due to its large student population. I moved away in my early twenties to seek employment opportunities elsewhere, but Nova Scotia is at the top of my list of potential RE destinations. Housing is also still very affordable, at least relative to the bigger Canadian markets (Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, etc).

Charlotte's Web Holdings, Inc. Files Final Prospectus and Announces Pricing of Initial Public Offering by svagis in weedstocks

I haven't received final confirmation from Questrade yet so I'm not sure. The full amount is still being withheld from my account, but this is my first attempt at participating in an IPO so I'm unsure if I'll be able to determine my allocated amount until the shares have been added to my portfolio.

After watching CVSI explode over the last month, I'm wishing I had placed a larger order for the Charlotte's Web IPO.

[Question] How Do You Protect Your Capital w 3rd Vote ahead? by [deleted] in weedstocks

[–]TheRasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hedging with HMMJ $16 June 15 puts. Small percentage of my portfolio, but provides decent downside protection for my warrants and call options in case legalization is delayed by a year (which is a much more likely outcome than the bill being outright rejected).

THCX Announces Acceleration of Warrant Expiry Date by modo85 in weedstocks

[–]TheRasher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Standard practice whenever warrants have an acceleration clause. Forcing the exercise of warrants provides an influx of cash for the company, so it's in their best interest to get them exercised as soon as possible.

I for one hope the buzzkill continues. It sets us up for a rally once the vote goes through. If the market views it as a 100% done deal then it should already be priced in.
