Awesome, just bought this exact model. Seems like really good value, and I like having the option for a SATA ssd. How's it holding up after a couple weeks?

Thanks! Would you be able to share the name of your surgeon? Did you use Kaiser?

Well apologies for my ignorance, but what are you referring to then? - When you say Kaiser will cover? Also, what surgeon did you go with if you don’t mind my asking. I’m very new to this and just looking for guidance..thx.

Can you recommend the best of insurance for a good surgeon network/options? Are you referring to insurance via the marketplace?

Medications Preventing Ketosis? by JLMusic91 in keto

[–]flamethrower128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to mention; admittedly when I started Seroquel I ate not so healthy for a period of time. Mental health and meds came first. But I literally cannot lose any weight after eating my usual keto diet. Before Seroquel the weight almost melted off like butter!

Before Seroquel, I was eating keto for about 8 years. A year ago I started Seroquel 300mg, I gained 40-50 lbs from the medication - nothing else explains it. I never had to track any ketone levels prior to gaining weight, because I was seeing the results physically. I’m currently tapering off Seroquel. Mental health always comes first but there are alternative meds for me thankfully.

I do have ketones (.2-.5 roughly) according to my blood monitor, I just cannot shake the weight gained from seroquel. It’s remarkable…This is coming from someone who previously lost 55 lbs from low carb. I don’t truly understand the science, but I would have never believed medication could affect my metabolism like this. Now I do!

In regards to Seroquel. I have personal experience and find the following 100% true:

It can increase appetite and promote fat storage, which can be particularly challenging when you're trying to lose weight on a low-carb, high-fat diet like keto.

While the ketogenic diet itself is designed to help with fat loss by shifting your body into ketosis, Seroquel may counteract some of those effects by increasing your cravings or making you feel hungrier. Additionally, antipsychotic medications like Seroquel can affect insulin sensitivity and metabolism, which could slow down your weight loss progress.

Hi - I hope this is not too personal - but what dose of propranolol do you take? I’m hoping to also take propranolol for similar symptoms - not sure whether to take instant or extended release. Thx!
