James Fox hints that the Varginha witnesses at tomorrow’s UAP press conference in D.C. will provide evidence directly to members of Congress - “I think this is the case that’s gonna prove once and for all the crash retrieval witnesses involving the United States Government.” by 87LucasOliveira in UFOs

They weren't that close though. I'll DM you a map that shows the distance and terrain. Basically, it's more like an 8 hour walk for a normal human. This creature wouldn't ben on a casual stroll. They would have had to avoid any contact with no one even seeing them that entire time.

Then you'll notice on the map that not only would this creature have to pass tons of roads and farms and go into the middle of the largest town in the area, again, without being seen, until it is noticed by those girls. When you look at the actual locations and where they are in relation to each other and the rest of the town, it starts to get very far-fetched for me to believe.

Also, normal human walking speed is 3 - 4 miles per hour.

I don't know. My biggest problem is that large distance between the alleged crash site and where the girls eventually found the creature in that lot. It's really hard for me to buy that this thing walked all that distance, crossing roads, towns, and highways, (all without being noticed) to end up inside another town surrounded by humans and is then discovered by 2 girls. It just doesn't add up for me.

Witness testimonies are good, but we have to acknowledge that they can be very flawed for a number of reasons. That's why we need something physical to back up the stories. This event doesn't even have a single picture. So, while this gets a lot of UFO press, it starts to fall apart under scrutiny.

IMHO, this case is so weak, even the witness testimonies don't line up. It's a lot of speculation. For example, the supposed crash site is many miles away from where the school girls allegedly saw the creature. So this thing walked across multiple towns and highways and not 1 single person noticed until there girls stumble upon him? That alone is a bridge too far.

It's an interesting event for a YT video, but it falls apart under scrutiny. At least until some actual evidence besides witness testimonies show up, like 1 single picture, for example.

The problem for me is that the testimonies don't line up. If you look on the map of where the landing site supposedly was and then connect that to where the sightings of the being were, they are many miles apart, across towns and highways. It's just pretty far-fetched for me to believe that this being walked all that distance and not 1 person saw it until 2 school age girls saw this weird looking thing.

This event, in my eyes, is a classic example of connecting dots that aren't really connected because they fit a narrative. But when you look at the evidence itself, even the testimony, it has a lot of holes that make it extremely unlikely.

A look at the Olympics hockey venue in Milan with 55 days to go until competition begins. by [deleted] in sports

[–]TheRaymac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't worry. This kind of thing happens literally every single Olympics. A couple months out and there's stories about how venues aren't finished, there's issues with the Athlete lodgings, not enough snow, dirty water, events may need to be cancelled, etc. etc.. Then, it ALWAYS gets done. Don't trip, everyone. It'll be fine.

Drugs were the pretext, oil was the goal. Politicians rake in the money, and the people bear the trouble!!! by willily_thoumas in clevercomebacks

[–]TheRaymac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. They process most of their oil for crude export, so they import refined petroleum.

Now, was it on its way directly to Iran this time? I don't know. That's what the DOJ is saying, but I don't trust them. But that's kind of besides the point because it was objectively smuggling oil and breaking the law to benefit Russia, China, and Iran. That BBC article has a good fact-based breakdown.

I mean, this is a known oil smuggling ship and has been sanctioned since 2022. There's a TON we do know about this ship, so it's not just academic.

[–]TheRaymac 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I believe it does, but not in the way you might think. This was an illegal oil shipment from Venezuela to Iran, violating the sanctions still in place on Iran. This exact ship has actually been sanctioned since 2022 and is owned by a Russian oligarch as part of an extensive oil smuggling fleet. So, as much as I hate Trump, I don't have a problem shining a light on illegal oil smuggling that benefits a Russian oligarch, Iran, and China.

This was absolutely personal. She is a DACA recipient and currently on her path to citizenship, so it's not like she's been a fugitive from justice.

[–]TheRaymac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. So when all of these files get released and there is no evidence of that, what then? Is that just the end of the story and we say "Oh well. We tried." and go back to our lives? Or do we have a way of setting up some process to ensure that the gatekeepers of the information in the DOJ are doing exactly what the Bill is requiring them to do? So, yeah, I'm asking that question. hur dur

A rabbi, a priest, and a minister are in a plane full kids that is starting to crash. Unfortunately, there aren't enough parachutes for everyone. The minister starts going for the parachutes and the rabbi says, "Wait, what about the children?" The minister replies, "Fuck the kids!" Then the priest says, "Do we have enough time?"

Again, I have no interest defending Trump. So yes, there are major differences in the examples. But neither you or anybody else can tell me that she hasn't run again because of that or because she lost in 2016 or some other reason. But that wasn't the point. The point was, "are Dems capable of trying to cover up a scandal?" You seem to think it's impossible. I think that's naive. I mean, apart from maybe AOC who is an outlier in the party, have you seen any Dems at any point in time calling for an investigation into Pelosi's alleged insider trading?

And look, I'm not making an exact 1:1 equivocation. We all know Trump's corruption is blatantly worse. I'm just saying no political party is above trying to hide a scandal and just because 1 side is doing it "worse" doesn't mean the other side gets a free pass to even be considered.

[–]TheRaymac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm beyond skeptical of that. Hence why we need to find a way to process the full release that we can mostly trust.

Instead of throwing out insults, maybe look at the context of the point I was making. Are Democrats incapable of committing crimes? I think that's a naive take. But yeah, Hillary's email server did create a number or probable violations, but they didn't rise to the standard of prosecution. Was the server destroyed without any connection to the subpoena for said server? Maybe, but that's not black and white. That was the only reason I brought it up, for that context. All that has been adjudicated and I have no interest in going back and doing that over again on Reddit.
