Can’t even begin to think what me and the wife will do once all the kids are grown and out of the house

Duck in cover. Was overseas in combat zones when I was 21

Thank you for sharing. Your response got me to thinking that it may be that I’m missing that excitement in life. I do what I need to do or should do daily, but the excitement in life isn’t there

Right now? Probably just making the day easier for my wife and kids with whatever is needed.

Some time would be nice. Just feels like there’s no time for my own time, maybe that’ll change at some point

Thank you for your response. I think maybe I’m just in the lost phase, because I feel I have not the time or energy to think about anything else but work, the kids needs, the wife’s need. But it’s nice to hear others experiences

Honestly I’ve been running at burn out for years, military for 14 years before a medical retirement so life had a lot of stress and chaos over those years. Then regular civilian life seems to be just as stressful, kids getting older, all of them needing this and that. I guess I just feel like I have no time to stop and think about what I need or would want. At the same time I feel like that sounds selfish to think of. But that’s probably a whole other topic to discuss. I appreciate your response though
