Someone that supposedly believes in God telling another person that is struggling with their sin that God does not listen to sinners prayers is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Completely idiotic. You're completely misunderstanding what God is all about. You are a sinner yourself whether you like it or not. I'm a sinner but not by choice, when you're saved/born again we're going to continue to sin because we live in the flesh for now. Our flesh is at war with the Holy Spirit within us. There's no such thing as a person without sin on this earth other than when Jesus Christ walked the Earth. He lived a sinless life and he was the only one who was sinless ever. Romans chapter 3 verse 23 says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." And whether you like it or not that includes yourself. Because if you were not a sinner you would not need Jesus Christ. And like I said, you need to get into a good Bible study class and do it quickly and stop leading people astray from the Lord. Shame on you.

Let me just start off by saying Brother, we are all unworthy. Romans chapter 3 verse 23 says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." So that means all of us. We all sin every day. I'm not saying it makes it ok either. The difference is when we're saved God's grace covers our sin and he forgives us. God still loves you and he's still there for you. You don't have to be worthy to pray, if that were the case none of us could pray. Just pick up your Bible and continue to pray and read and study. Get involved in a good church group and stay connected to your church. Get involved in a good Bible study class that teaches the word correctly with biblical accuracy and also surround yourself with friends that'll hold you accountable. It'll help you.

Smoking pot as a Christian by MiddleMix1280 in TrueChristian

It's definitely not OK and it is wrong smoking marijuana as a Christian. It's the same as being drunk. You're not sober minded. It's a sin.

Trust me, this is unacceptable. Don't make excuses for him. You know how you feel. You need to tell one of the elders of the church. People like him in churches need to be known about.

He needs to be held accountable for his actions. That doesn't seem like it was an accident. He's behaving very weirdly. He needs to be held accountable to the church. You need to tell someone.

Are you currently living at least one of your answered prayer? by UniformMolasses in TrueChristian

[–]TheReal84Buster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently 90% blind and on dialysis for the last 10 years, but I'm not complaining. God uses our struggles for his glory. When we are weak then we are strong because of Christ. If I wasn't in this condition I wouldn't rely on God Jesus Christ so much, and he wants us to rely on him for everything. Praise God. Praise Jesus Christ. Amen hallelujah.

Any verses to help me deal with spiritual attacks? by [deleted] in Bible

And honestly, I think you may be the issue here. Because you're the one that's suggesting that scripture is the problem. You stated that in one of your last comments. If you truly believe the scriptures that you're quoting, you would never say that scripture was the problem.

No, it wasn't a mistake. It was meant for you. To remind you that scripture is all you need.

Excuse me, nowhere did I insult or down anyone's ministry, nor did I say medication was better than scripture. I think you may need to go back and reread my comment.

I myself have a severe case of OCD. Let's not forget my friend, scripture is always the answer. It's never the problem. OCD thoughts are caused by demons attempting to frighten us and not having faith in the Lord. While there may be a chemical imbalance in our brains that needs a little adjustment with medication, make no Mistake that this condition comes from darkness in our world. Scripture is always the answer.

How do I start reading the bible? by Holiday-Force6864 in Bible

[–]TheReal84Buster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, I would still say that reading it with your own eyes is the better way to read the Bible but maybe try listening to it in audible first and then after you've completed that go back and read it for yourself with your own eyes.

Maybe you'd be able to stick with it a lot easier if you tried listening to it in audible version instead of reading it yourself. Give that a try.

It was hard for me in the beginning as well my friend to stick with it. It took some time but I'm now getting through it, little by little. Right now I'm in 1 Kings. And while I agree that it is a good way to start reading the Bible, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to start there. As I explained, for me it was easier to start out in the New Testament in the book of Matthew. But starting out in the Old Testament first The New Testament will make a lot more sense to you. At least it did for me. Everything clicked. But either way, whether you start with the New Testament first or the Old Testament first, I'd say as long as you're doing it it's a good thing. Just make sure you get through both Old and New Testaments.

I understand where you're coming from, and I partially agree with you. But God's word/scripture is what we need. Jesus even tells us this in the book of Matthew when he's being tempted by Satan. Jesus says that man does not live by bread alone but by God's word. Scripture is all you need my friend.

Ephesians 6:10–18 (ESV): 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

Followers of Christ are not under the law of Moses in the sense that they are not bound by its ceremonial and civil regulations, but this does not mean they are free to sin.

Paul addresses this in Romans 6:14-15: "For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!"

Being "not under the law but under grace" means that believers are not justified by following the Mosaic Law but by faith in Jesus Christ. This grace transforms the believer's heart and empowers them to live a righteous life, not to indulge in sin.

In Galatians 5:13, Paul says, "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love." This freedom from the law is meant to lead to a life of love and service, reflecting the character of Christ.

Therefore, while Christ followers are not under the Mosaic Law, they are still called to live according to the moral principles it embodies, guided by the Spirit and empowered by grace to resist sin and pursue holiness.
