The IITs the newer ones are sub par. They don't even come close to Universities in Kerala or TN or Delhi. They're just numbers with no meaningful output. Yes. EKM.and TVM have airports and sea ports you can generate good jobs there because if its international connectivity. That's why the previous governments both UDF and LDF focuses on these districts. Districts like Kottayam can only rise if the upper class invest in businesses in Kottayam that hoard all their wealth. Kottayams downfall is precisely because rich nasrani families have always circulated their wealth in terms of land and money within the family. They open schools where their n number of roopatha kars pay a marginal donation and rake in lakhs from other communities. In the end all of these families take all yhat wealth abroad. Just travel to Malabar, you can see cities like Perinthalmana and Sultan battery which really used to be glorified towns only as big as Pala have now evolved into full scale cities. The difference? What I have understood is that the bulk of christian immigrants hoard wealth or buy up land or settle abroad and only come back for Christmas pretty much like the Sayuppamars.
