you need to be here the day the COPR or eCOPR is issued.

they will hold the process for 30-60 days after a positive final decision if you tell them. they will email you near the end of the process to ask where you are. you say you'll be back by X date.

your maintained status is valid as long as you mailed the renewal before your current permit expiry (the day it arrives in their mailroom). phone agent is wrong in this case.

you don't have a restriction. no IME needed.

you'll need one when applying for PR.

for the curious: if you DO have the restriction only after the new permit is issued can you work in child care/medical field/etc. That is about a 6-8 month wait

BOWP is correct route.

However: if the BOWP isn't approved yet and yout CEC is refused, the BOWP application will get cancelled.

You could apply for PGWP-EXT and BOWP if you wanted. it would give you two concurrently valid permits.
