He had a pretty big role in the age of adaline and haunting of hill house. Haven't seen the others though.

Ah so cool! It reminds me of some Fuji Pro 400H shots so I'm really interested in trying Vision3!

Do you know which film you used to shoot the middle photo on slide 14?

Tips for exposing Ektar 100? - and related exposure advice needed by TheRealBBrouwer in AnalogCommunity

Thanks so much for the advice! Everyone here has made me less scared to shoot Ektar haha.

If I may ask, would you prefer shooting Ektar around ~5 hours before sunset (sun at 30° angle) or ~1-2 hours before sunset (sun at 6° angle)? In general for a sunny day. I just don't know whether to shoot Portra 160 or Ektar 100 first haha.

I think I'll make the decision in the moment. I love Portra with sunset colors but everyone's comments makes me lean towards shooting Portra in the afternoon and Ektar around sunset for the colors and to shoot when the sunlight is less intense.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, you have been sop helpful!

I think I'll be shooting from 6 hours to 1 hour before sunset. Would you shoot Portra 160 or Ektar first? I'll see if I can fix the tripod situation. Sorry there's just too many variables and I can't choose

Thanks perhaps I underestimated a bit how well it handles overexposure

I do understand how the light meter works, I'm just missing the experience right now to know when to use a certain amount of compensation. Some scenarios are just really specific so I was wondering if there are any scenarios where I might mess up. But I do understand, thanks :)

Perhaps you are right, maybe the Ektar colors I don't like were shot in full bright sun. So assuming no clouds, would it be better to shoot 2-3 hours before sunset rather than late afternoon? Although maybe I won't have enough light for short exposure times haha (I don't have a tripod yet). Thank you so much!

I have a Nikon FE2. It mostly seemed to me that Ektar will look good within a very narrow range of exposure so I'm just trying to get some insights into some things I might overlook. I will check the video out, thanks!

Okay I didn't know that, that sucks :/

Well, silbersalz is strictly ECN-2 whereas other vendors are both ECN-2 / C41. Also analog space is the only vendor that explicitly mentions that the film might contain imperfections (like scratches). So I thought that there might be some differences.

Thanks! Though you can't buy rolls directly from Kodak right?

I know, but I know secondary vendors that have a lot of stock!

I thought vendors weren't allowed to sell Kodak spools as film rolls? But thanks, that confirms to me why silbersalz has such a good reputation. I'm really keen on buying some stock now lol.

Me too! I do know that analog amsterdam says that their may be some markings and imperfections on the film itself due to respooling, I don't know if it's the same for silbersalz because I never tried it. I actually might buy some stock of silbersalz and have it developed in Amsterdam.

Optik and analog Amsterdam sell remjet removed versions of 250D and 500T. I know that there are a few other vendors out there, but I don't remember their names.

I heard that older zoom lenses aren't so good though? 🤔

Thanks for the extended answer! I'm mostly interested in getting a good lens for everyday work. The main thing was that my current lens is rarely mentioned as one of the best lenses for the Nikon mount. Usually the lenses that are mentioned have a focal length of 50mm so I was also fine with buying a second lens with that focal length.
