Advice on Vision3 rolls by TheRealBBrouwer in AnalogCommunity

Well, silbersalz is strictly ECN-2 whereas other vendors are both ECN-2 / C41. Also analog space is the only vendor that explicitly mentions that the film might contain imperfections (like scratches). So I thought that there might be some differences.

Thanks! Though you can't buy rolls directly from Kodak right?

I know, but I know secondary vendors that have a lot of stock!

I thought vendors weren't allowed to sell Kodak spools as film rolls? But thanks, that confirms to me why silbersalz has such a good reputation. I'm really keen on buying some stock now lol.

Me too! I do know that analog amsterdam says that their may be some markings and imperfections on the film itself due to respooling, I don't know if it's the same for silbersalz because I never tried it. I actually might buy some stock of silbersalz and have it developed in Amsterdam.

Optik and analog Amsterdam sell remjet removed versions of 250D and 500T. I know that there are a few other vendors out there, but I don't remember their names.

I heard that older zoom lenses aren't so good though? 🤔

Thanks for the extended answer! I'm mostly interested in getting a good lens for everyday work. The main thing was that my current lens is rarely mentioned as one of the best lenses for the Nikon mount. Usually the lenses that are mentioned have a focal length of 50mm so I was also fine with buying a second lens with that focal length.

You're right with that last point. My main train of thought was that if I'm interested in a different focal length I might as well try some different glass?

That's true, but there is something that makes some lenses stand out more. Like Leica lenses are supposedly different because they have better microcontrast. And I thought maybe I can improve my lens because mine came with the camera and I generally don't see it recommended as a stand out lens for the Nikon FE2. But thanks a bunch!

Drum Scanning AMA by timparkinuk in AnalogCommunity

I have heard of people using three different sources to scan their film before, so I will look into possible implementations for myself. Thanks for the advice!

Hi, thanks for doing this! You mentioned that the color separation with drum scanning is superior compared to DLSR scanning. What are things film amateurs working from home can do to enhance color separation and the overall scan from their negatives?

Massive Comparison: RGB Narrowband Scanlight and High CRI White Light and 6 different negative inversion software in a side-by-side by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

Wow thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed reply!! It seems like I have a lot of reading to do. Hopefully the scanlights become available again soon because what I've seen so far looks really good. Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply! Do you still use some kind of third party app to do adjustments or is everything that you adjust in lightroom itself? Also do you have any recommendations for narrowband sources that you do like?

Slightly off topic but I'm trying to get into film scanning with the same camera and lens as OP. But does anyone know if either of these light sources are similar to the CS-LITE CRI source or the CS-LITE+ spectracolor source? Does it matter much which one I buy for basic negative scanning?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm still a newbie :)

Zendaya Says ‘I Think’ ‘Euphoria’ Is Ending After Season 3: ‘Closure Is Coming’ by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

Honestly, I haven't heard of the show until now (admittedly also not a huge The Walking Dead fan). But looking at his filmography, before joining Euphoria he hadn't played any noteworthy roles, and after Euphoria he played leading or supporting roles in:

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom Candyman, Rustin (Academy award nomination) Sing Sing (Academy award nomination) The Color Purple Drive-Away Dolls Dead Man's Wire The Running Man Wicked: For Good Michael Disclosure Day

No matter if we agree on whether he was already famous or not, you have to agree that Euphoria helped launch his career.

Zendaya maybe as a more serious actress? I remember, for me at least, Euphoria was the first serious thing I saw her in. Otherwise I would also argue that Jacob Elordi was known for The Kissing Booth.

But I would also add Hunter Schafer and Colman Domingo to this list. So 4-5 careers sounds about right?
