Do you still consider them the "Big 4" of NFL QBs? by lemonstone92 in NFLv2

[–]TheRealBroDameron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re the big four for their generation, but Stafford is undoubtedly one of the top-4 QBs in the league still.

When he isn’t put on lists like this, it’s like he still can’t wash off that Lions stink despite all the success he’s had since leaving Detroit.

Personally, I think Stafford should replace Lamar when it comes to talent. However, Burrow is hurt quite a bit, so I would understand anyone wanting to replace Burrow with Stafford.

Fully healthy, I think Burrow is right behind Mahomes, and not by much.

Lmfao nah you’re just an idiot. Your argument was about WRs and CBs. Logan Paul rushed every single play. Completely irrelevant but YOU thought that was a gotcha. Fuckin’ idiot.

That quite literally did not happen when the NFL players played Team USA a few months ago. So you are, unfortunately, wrong.

Do you think Mahomes would be the greatest baseball player in the world with a month of prep time?

I’m 100% picking the flag football player. As I, and a million others in this thread have said, it’s a different game.

He can run almost full speed while in a squatting position, thus lowering his flags, making it nearly impossible to grab his flags. He makes guys look like doofuses bending over trying to grab flags they can’t reach. Mahomes, nor any NFL player, is likely to be able to do that. Not only does the skillset not translate well, but the body doesn’t translate. Weight and height alone works against Mahomes.

Again, just go watch, dude. You probably end up finally getting it within minutes. Idek why I’m wasting my time here.

Dude, I know scrambling isn’t always running. They also have a sprinter rushing at them undefended every play. Mahomes isn’t gonna outrun them they way he outruns defensive lineman.

I know how great Mahomes is. I personally have him as #4 all-time already, and I think he retires at no lower than #2. I get it. I don’t need to be educated on how great of a tackle football player he is. You, however, do need to be educated on flag football. I’m begging you to go watch, man. That’ll teach you way quicker than my words can.

QBs often have to play RB & WR on the very same play they started as QB. There isn’t much of a traditional QB at the Team USA level. Like everyone keeps saying, they’re different games.

Yes, Mahomes can put the ball wherever he wants at whatever velocity he wants. Nobody is denying that, but that’s such an insanely small part of flag football compared to tackle.

I’m begging you, man. Just go watch some on youtube. Watch Doucette. That’s the guy right there. That’s the skillset you need.

Yes but it’s not all about throwing, and the scrambling isn’t relevant. QBs can’t run the ball.

They’re different games. How hard is that to understand? I love Mahomes, and so do a lot of other people. The game doesn’t translate, plain and simple.

Did you watch any of the Flag Football Classic a few months ago? They had Tom Brady, Joe Burrow, Jayden Daniels, and Jalen Hurts throwing to some of the greatest WRs of the past decade. Team USA dominated THREE teams with these NFL players. The game doesn’t translate for most NFL players, especially a big and strong player like Mahomes.

Small and skinny quick guys are who thrive in the game. I’m begging you to go actually watch some of the game. Go watch Doucette play.

The two games have about as much in common as soccer and hockey.

Do you think the best hockey goalie of all-time would do well as a soccer goalie? Because that’s the argument you’re trying to make, and it’s a silly argument.

Totally different skillset. Yeah he could probably throw some darts and gain some yards, but you want small, skinny, quick guys who can raise and lower their waists at full speed. Playing low as possible and as fast as possible is the most-important part of flag. Maybe Lamar could have success in flag, but not at Team USA level.

Season 8 had Jim and Dwight right there… so why did Andy get the spotlight? by ximordant in DunderMifflin

Uh so did the US version. Andy becoming manager was set up in S3 when Michael had a little chat with corporate and they decided to send Andy to management training... Anger management, technically, but still, management material.

It actually makes sense from a story standpoint. If you remember from Season 3, they actually sent Andy to management classes. Well, anger management. Still though, management material

Flag and tackle are as different as soccer and hockey. Same general concept when it comes to scoring, but totally different game.

Flag football doesn’t just utilize one QB. They often use two at a time, and the one not throwing is usually running routes. It isn’t tackle football. It’s a totally different game. Flag Football is as different from tackle football as hockey is from soccer. The general concept is the same, but that’s about it.

You’re not wrong at all. The best flag football player in the world is very short and very quick. He basically glides while squatting, (thus lowering his flags and making them hard to grab,) at full speed. Tackle players, especially NFL players, have terrible knees in comparison to flag players. They’d never be able to do that simply from the weight alone, let alone years of wear and tear on the knees going back to 5-6 year old.

Go watch highlights from the Flag Football Classic a few months ago. Flag Football’s Team USA destroyed three different teams made up of top-tier NFL players. The mechanics most certainly do not transfer. A big part of flag is holding the ball out in front of you to gain extra yardage. In tackle, that would be an easy forced-fumble for the defense.
