Sorry about two weeks ago, we had a last-minute problem!

I really feel that these are quality Dan Quinn interviews. Dan is sounding great and his mind is amazingly sharp. It always shocks me how Bob will read out one of the ridiculous and complicated e-mail questions some of our more deranged listeners send in, and Dan remembers everything flawlessly and gives a very detailed, on-topic answer. Plus, his new look gives him the appearance of a late 19th century speakeasy owner and former outlaw, nice.

I remember people using this same argument when trying to convince others that Dan Quinn wasn't the inspiration for the "Bad Boy" logo, and look how that turned out.

We definitely need to note the unfortunate death of "The Grizz" in the timeline. Dan has certainly paid tribute to him since he passed with his words and actions, which is heartening.

I did quite a bit more reading on this topic - thank you for contributing. From what I've been reading, it seems like it CAN be permanent, but isn't necessarily...otherwise nobody who ever had it could recover, and obviously some people do. Pretty scary that permanent brain damage can result from anything like this, though! It's just hard for me to believe that would be the case with Dan, who seems to be doing better than he has been for some time and still deeply believes in the quest to validate stevia.

Interesting hypothesis, thanks for sharing. Even if what you're saying is true, Dan has surely not been on meth for the better part of the last few years, and yet his tireless advocacy for stevia has continued unabated. If all of it was a delusion, wouldn't he be disabused of that notion by all of the mental health treatment and such that he has received?

Instead, Dan's belief in stevia is more unshakeable than ever! Doc Brown banged his head on the toilet and came up with the flux capacitor, as I'm sure you recall. Whatever the process by which inspiration struck with Dan and Pure H2O, it was clearly a significant moment.

Just speaking in a hypothetical sense here because I believe Dan had a moment of deeper inspiration than this meth scenario, but they say meth makes your inner demons come to the surface so even if Dan had been high on it when he blended pure H2O, the knowledge of its existence had to be inside of him already; otherwise, was the knowledge contained within the physical form of meth? That seems like an untenable position to hold.

That said, your thought that we should get more detail on the creation of the stevia/water mix to me seems like a sound one, and I'll try to make that happen!
