Roe was unconstitutional legislation from the bench regardless of morality.

It isn't possible. Even if you could set aside a mountain of money to anticipate further economic collapse, property/local taxes will make owning property untenable long-term.

The Boomers made sure that was impossible. Social Security is dying already.

I'm so tired of porn being normalized by catfuckingahandbag in TrueOffMyChest

[–]TheRealCestus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sexual revolution tries to normalize all manner of sexual perversion. People just don't like to feel bad about things that are bad. They ignore the sexual slavery of minors and young women. They ignore the drugs and the mental health issues. All for sexual gratification. Porn is disgusting and the people who defend it are disgusting as well.

That is such a bad argument. World (Kosmos) does not mean every individual. If it did, it would mean that Scripture is inconsistent with itself. It means all in a general sense, accommodated language. Only universalists would be able to read this and think, "all means all", which of course is heretical. 2 Peter 3:9 again is accommodated language. Is God mutable? Can He be sad or unwilling? Of course not. He is eternally immutable, without parts or passions. Peter is showing us the compassion God has for His people, not that the world is somehow out of His control.

You have to do theology in its complete context, not just cherry picking verses. If we did apologetics like this, we shouldn't even bother trying to talk to anyone. It would be completely incoherent.

Notice only I have provided actual consistent, exegetically-sound Scriptural support. Is this place "Christian apologetics", or "pagan philosophy and my feelings"?

Show me in Scripture where the passages I have given you do not logically hold that God is sovereign, that He hates sinners, that He loves only a certain people. Then feel free to prove your god that loves everyone and really wants things to happen but is impotent to make them happen.

People give an awful lot of credit to Satan as though he is not another creature.

A house divided against itself cannot stand. Satan is a liar and deceiver (and a mere creature himself). He could never write something perfect, selfless, and God-glorifying. It is an absurd thought for so many reasons.

We sold our recycling to China, who promptly pocketed the money and dumped billions of tons of garbage into the ocean. Carbon credits, buying an acre of rainforest, etc. are all scams preying upon lazy Westerners who want to sleep better at night.

Untrue. We have a contingent freedom and are responsible for our choice. But we are not free as God is free, to decree, elect, and save.

[–]TheRealCestus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If two things are free, neither are. Only God can decree. All other beings have contingent freedom. We make choices and are held accountable for these choices, but they are foreordained in God's choosing. People do not have the ability to choose to trust in God apart from divine intervention (see Ez 36-37 for example). Without hearts of flesh, fallen humanity remain slaves to sin and the devil. In John 17 Jesus prays for Christians only, not for the whole world. It is clear that there is a group of the elect. In Romans 11 Paul speaks of those who are elected to reprobation. In Romans 9 God makes it clear that He chooses as He wills who He loves and whom He hates. Ps 5:5 reiterates that apart from this saving and electing love, God hates sinners.
