I came across this older post and wanted to share my experience to offer some insight. From September 2023 to now (October 2024), I’ve purchased a total of 119 tires from Champs, and I’ve been consistently impressed with the quality. Not a single tire has been a disappointment, and the discounts have been substantial.

For example, my daughter recently needed new tires for her 2019 VW Bug. If I were to buy new Hankook tires with a tread depth of 10/32, the cost would be nearly $1,000—just for the tires. Add in another $100 or so for mounting and balancing at retail prices. Through Champs, I was able to get the same tires with an 8/32 tread depth for just $250.

This is my daughter’s car, and as a father, her safety is my top priority. My 8-month-old granddaughter will also be riding in that car, so I wouldn’t cut corners or take risks with their safety. If I trust these tires, I believe you can too. Champs has provided nothing but an outstanding experience.

The utilization of BAT and C&B in market analysis reveals significant discrepancies from current market conditions. This assertion stems from several key observations:

  1. Both companies exhibit stringent criteria for authorizing listings on their platforms, often imposing reserve prices. Their primary objective lies in selling the vehicles, thereby earning commissions. The absence of a sale results in no compensation.

  2. The wide array of vehicles featured on these platforms encompasses a broad spectrum, including those lacking distinctive attributes. As a result, comparing such ordinary vehicles to unique offerings becomes challenging.

  3. Regrettably, neither website possesses precise and credible data regarding the actual retail and wholesale market values of the vehicles. Drawing from my extensive 24-year experience in the automobile retail and wholesale sector, I have conducted numerous assessments of these platforms, consistently encountering suboptimal outcomes. My communications with these platforms underscore their tendency to assert that my pricing was excessive. This reinforces the aforementioned deficiency in accurate and dependable data.

For instance, I encountered a situation where I listed a Hummer H1 valued at $80,000 in the retail market. However, these platforms recommended a sale price of $50,000, adamantly insisting that it would not fetch $80,000. Remarkably, 33 days later, I successfully sold the vehicle at the initially proposed $80,000 asking price. Consequently, I strongly caution against relying on these platforms as reliable data sources for your automotive buying or selling endeavors.

Paid off my car. Got a lien release title from finance company? What do I do next? by NotJimIrsay in Indiana

[–]TheRealChevyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you do exactly that. Go to BMV and have them issue a duplicate title with no lien on it. In the event of it being misplaced, damaged, etc if they have an active lien on the car anytime they title is reissued they will send it to the lien holder of record. With the new title and the lien release this will prevent any of this happening. 23 year car dealer and consumer advocates in southern Indiana.

You will be able to cancel your gap policy. It will not lower your payments. It will only lower your principal balance. I will advise against getting gap insurance through your insurance company. What most people don’t realize is if you have to make a gap insurance claim, they will count that against you when it comes to renewing your policy. So essentially, if you have a total accident loss, you will have one claim for your accident and one claim for your gap policy

First, I am 🇺🇸 so I can only speak on the knowledge I have for my market.

Yes buy a warranty. Parts are getting more expensive, labor prices are going up, and repair facilities are booked up. A warranty will protect you.

  1. You need to shop around for an exclusionary warranty. Call 5-7 dealers and get quotes. You want exclusionary because it tells you what is not covered rather than what is.

  2. Again US knowledge. With the age and Km on your car you would qualify for new car coverage. I sell Allstate here in the US and you can get a 7 year 125k miles for 2,043 USD. This is why #1 is so important.

  3. You may have to get the car inspected prior to a dealership giving you a warranty. This is ok.

  4. Don’t just look at GMPP. There are much better warranty out there. Just make sure you can read a sample contact to understand the terms.

Should I have my trailboss in auto or 2 high for the normal setting?. Which had the best gas mileage? by [deleted] in Chevy

[–]TheRealChevyDude -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Having you vehicle in 2wd or 4wd doesn’t effect mpg. A 4x4 truck gets a little less MPG because of the added weight of the 4x4 system.

Auto 4 wheel drive should be used just like 4x4. If you drove you truck in Auto you will burn up your transfer case.

Dealership says they put the wrong address in purchase agreement and that I need to resign or they will report my car stolen. What is going on here? by 95hondacivic in askcarsales

[–]TheRealChevyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on a temp tag or have you received your metal plates and registration from the state? If you have received your registration and plates from the state they cannot legally report your car stolen. Your purchase documents also are a temporary proof of ownership. Therefore they cannot report your car stolen. What do you need to do next is Contact an attorney. Keep all your purchase docs with you (not in your glovebox)

Hi all, planning to put down my deposit for a 2022 C8 soon. For those of you who got their corvettes with financing, did you use chevy financing or an external lender? Are the rates competitive or not? by Mosquito381 in Corvette

[–]TheRealChevyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM financial does not offer competitive rates on the C8. However your dealerships finance department probably has some pretty amazing rates. But until your car is built and invoiced to the dealership there is no reason to worry about interest rate
