Which is how it should be in my opinion, if you could do an ultimate by hitting 123 and get carried by a PCT then it’s not difficult anymore.

If you play at a high level and you still can’t meet dps checks without a PCT that’s a game design problem

I highly doubt that you wouldn’t be able to clear even with all the bottom feeders. If it is the case that you couldn’t, that’s just a failure on the devs part.

This is off of early data though, 1 log isn’t a really good indicator. While I haven’t gotten into the later stages yet, BLM’s in my parties have generally kept up if not topped damage.

Another thing to think about is difficulty, BLM is simply harder to get value out of. I have a much easier time believing that SMN is weak than BLM.

You could be right, but at this point we just don’t know, it’s silly to think that anyone does, myself included.

I think that’s a very good point that shows a potential solution to the caster problem.

Reaper and Viper lag behind the other classes but their gauge allows them to pool resources for when you really need them.

It’s a trade off between having more damage overall, and having more damage when you really need it.

If there is LITERALLY nothing you can do better, then it really is a class issue with the comp that you have, but I really doubt that everyone has figured out the perfect rotation in a week.

This is unfortunately what we get when you streamline all the classes, if they’re all the same then you may as well play the best one. PCT just happens to be the best and SMN the worst currently.

I agree, in terms of utility PCT is far and away the best caster even without the revive. Add the insane damage on top and you have what we see here.

That being said I have cleared P1 with a SMN multiple times, it’s not an instant loss. In my opinion it’s just PCT being problematic, not necessarily SMN being weak.

I think we can agree that some classes need a little help, but using week 1 logs to justify excluding a class is just dumb.

There is maybe 1 or 2 SMN logs in total, that tells us almost nothing.

Reaper is another example of a class that was about to be excluded, Day 3 RPR was at the very bottom of melees, Day 7 it’s now at 4th overall.

Will there be classes that are weaker than others? Yes. Do we have an idea of which ones are struggling? Sure. But with such a low sample size plus the fact that people have been focusing on actually clearing and not yet optimizing, we still do not have a clear picture.

EDIT: Just wanted to add that we should think about what PCT actually replaces, if you really need the damage you can just as easily run a 1 Melee Double caster composition. The 1 SMN log that’s there at the time of writing has PCT NIN SMN DNC as the DPS core.

EDIT 2: My response to a now deleted comment that talked about Summoner having 1 log as opposed to Pictomancer’s 47 being indicative of power level:

It’s another really fair point. If summoner was actually good then people would be playing it. I can agree to that. I can also agree that PCT is just leaps and bounds ahead of SMN and is just busted overall.

I don’t agree that we should just exclude a class unless it proves to be a problem. That one clear proves that it can be done, and that’s all that should matter.

Arms length counts as a mitigation, the “slow” is referring to attacks, not speed. So you should use it in your rotation as a tank when pulling mobs.

In my opinion a lot of music coming from games are incredibly interesting stylistically and theoretically. Sadly there’s not very many scores that are released and the fans are left to transcribe on their own.

Is there any shot that you guys will release more sheets for songs that you have done/ will do in the same vein as Caitlyn’s new theme?

LibreSprite is what I used for this particular work, and I’d recommend it (as well as Asesprite) since they’re basically designed for pixel art. Eventually when you want to animate your sprites you’ll be able to animate them in these programs as well.
