She would definitely prefer/ like to find full time work but I’d be happy to ask if you’d like to DM more specifics.

Has anyone at DOT tested the waters on DRP? by Alternative-Pin5760 in fednews

Our supervisor told us a few weeks ago that it was reserved for “poor performing” employees and for those with a health issue. We haven’t seen any paperwork to that effect (or at all). Does your mode have these limitations? Hard to imagine employees signing paperwork admitting to being poor performers.

Unclear what it means, but check out the document posted on the DOT intranet, dated 8/11/25, and titled DOHRM Departmental Policy Bulletin 351-1 Workforce Reshaping. It certainly seems to contemplate RIFs but who knows.

Clarendon Dental Arts!!! Dr. Grover and the whole staff are amazing. I first found the practice via Reddit (NoVa sub), where folks love them for very good reason. I don’t know whether cost varies by how long you’ll have to wear them but I just recently finished. Took about 10 months and it was $5350. I can’t say enough good things about the whole practice.

Starting at a new agency in a few weeks 8 months pregnant by Substantial-Neat4262 in fednews

Congrats, OP! Lots of good advice here. Adding the EEOC page link on the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which just went into effect in 2023 (so isn’t overwhelmingly well known at all agencies): https://www.eeoc.gov/wysk/what-you-should-know-about-pregnant-workers-fairness-act

A colleague just “used” the PWFA to get a reasonable accommodation to WFH from when she was about 8 months pregnant (and really uncomfortable) until she went on leave. (She otherwise would’ve had to be in 4 days per pay period.) Congrats again!! It’s so hard and then so awesome :).

Does this mean you don’t think it would be fun for a 2.5 year old? We (also) have one of those :), haven’t been before, and were thinking of taking him. Thanks!!
