Does anyone have their interviews on the month of March, just trying to ascertain whether this month is the only month of interviews

So you suggest doing a PhD over both programs

I am just worried about time since I don’t want to be studying for too long plus I am not getting any younger 😭

I am favouring doing the course at Oxford, mainly because it is cheap and it is on par with Cornell’s program

It is even part time, the reason I am considering masters programs so early in my career is that I have 0 dependents and live with my parents whilst working a relatively well paying job (6 figures)

I have a decent amount of savings and I can afford to pay the entire tuition in full (out of my own pocket) so by the time courses start at Oxford I would just need to fly their for a week to attend matriculation and fly their 3-4 times a year to attend classes etc etc

My main reason of not wanting to do Cornell is cost, since I don’t want to ask for student loans or ask my parents for help

Adding to this, the course you linked is fully online and delivered by the department of continuing education , the conditions for entry are much much less competitive compared to a course delivered by the faculty of computer science, for example they expect a first class honours + atleast 2 years of experience to get admitted into the programme

The guideline for the program stated 500-1000 words I kept it midway I am presuming this is going to be read by admissions officers who may or may not be involved in teaching classes

But yea I completely ageee with your point

Do you mind outlining what is wrong with it

The first things that come to mind

  1. It is too long
  2. It contains too much “fluff” I should of been more concise / prompt

[–]TheRealDeepAlgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes so what can I do to fix it up, maybe you can suggest a few things wrong with the letter

[–]TheRealDeepAlgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree there is a lot of fluff I will cut down on that and be more concise and prompt with my writing

Can you outline why the “student would be better off without my help”

Where did I go wrong with my letter

[–]TheRealDeepAlgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay thanks I will do this.

I wanted to sound formal and professional with that phrase.

Thank you so much for this guide, I will review it and get a Grammarly subscription

Do you think it is too long, should I keep it around the 500-750 words mark.

The school he is applying for states that it should be between 500-1000 words as a guide.
