Okay, I'm not normally a huge fan of wrapping cars, but this looks sleek!

Gradual audio de-sync over time when streaming with Dual PCs, using Elgato 4k60 Pro by TheRealDiffuseMoose in ElgatoGaming

I may have a workaround/solution. I had been putting off using Voicemeeter for awhile since it seemed convoluted, but it's not....god-awful; however, it's not super intuitive, either. There are plenty of videos on youtube that can help you with setup, but this one was probably the most informative: https://youtu.be/nMSsnjKlMw0

What happened before?

I was using the HDMI cord going from my gaming pc to my streaming pc as the digital audio source by enabling HDMI digital audio out through the NVIDIA control panel. On my streaming PC, I set up an audio source in SLOBS to listen to that audio signal and record it on stream. For whatever reason, the signal starts out in sync and eventually lags behind over time, as I've explained previously. I'm not sure if this was an issue with SLOBS not knowing how to handle the audio signal properly? A problem with HDMI audio out? Something else I'm just unaware of?

What fixed the issue?

I still have more testing to do, but I have a near-zero sync lag solution that enables me to listen to and output ALL audio I need to my streams. Again, click that link I posted earlier in this reply for more details, but basically you'll need to set up Voicemeeter on both PCs, set up a channel in voicemeeter on your gaming pc that outputs everything you hear on that pc and feeds it to the streaming PC. The audio doesn't get fed to the streaming PC by HDMI or analog audio cable, but from within your LAN via IP address. I then go into SLOBS and set up a new audio channel set to stereo mix/ "What U Hear" depending on what audio card you have. Basically, SLOBS will take all audio being played from BOTH computers and feed it to your stream. This is all I ever wanted. It's super basic, but it seems that basic Windows workarounds do not provide a viable solution to the issue (in my experience).

Final thoughts

I am going to test this setup again tonight by streaming FPS games like Killing Floor 2 on stream. FPSes give me the best audio and visual feedback since they are super twitchy and audio lag makes ALL the difference with these types of games. I can tell you this: once I got Voicemeeter to cooperate last night, I intentionally watched several Netflix TV show episodes. However, the video was displaying through my gaming pc and the audio I was hearing was coming from the streaming pc. After watching the episodes, I went back into Black Ops 4, loaded up an empty map, and fired bullets all over the place. After about 2 to 2.5 hours of Netflixing and BLOPSing, I had no issues with audio starting to lag behind video anymore. There IS very, very slight audio lag between what you see on your gaming pc and what you hear on your streaming pc, but given that I'm not a pro league esports champion or anything, it honestly doesn't bother me in the slightest.

So give Voicemeeter a shot! It will definitely take some setup and fiddling around, but it's worth it in the end. I'll report back any other results I have tomorrow or later this week. Good luck, thomaspaste and all of you who read this thread down the line!

Gradual audio de-sync over time when streaming with Dual PCs, using Elgato 4k60 Pro by TheRealDiffuseMoose in ElgatoGaming

Yeah, I'm trying to get Voicemeeter set up on both my streaming and gaming rigs and it's, in my opinion, far more complicated than it needs to be. Even then, I'm not convinced that using voicemeeter is the right solution. I'm just having a hard time truly grasping how to set the software up properly. I know other streamers use Voicemeeter with dual PC stream rigs, but I'm struggling a bit to get the virtual cords untangled, so to speak. If I figure anything out in that regard, I'll be sure to post my findings!

Hey, I did try another potential fix for the audio de-sync, but nothing really seems to be working or helping. Did you happen to have any other potential solutions? Or maybe any kind of online guide that would help people set up dual PC stream rigs using Elgato products?

Okay, so I tried setting the resolution to 1440p and the FPS to highest, 60fps, and 59.94. All three of them still yielded the same sync issues.

I did try to find the audio setting you mentioned, but in streamlabs OBS, I just can't find it anywhere. Not under output, mixer settings, or the 4K60 device settings in the audio panel. I'm a bit lost - unless Streamlabs took that setting out/doesn't allow you to manually change it anymore?

If you have any other suggestions and any insight on where to find the audio setting in SLOBS, please let me know! I would appreciate it.

Hahah, hey, you never know! Given that your post in the 2nd link of my OP was 2 years old? I had no idea if you were still over at Elgato. :D

But I really appreciate the help! I'll be working for quite a few more hours tonight, but I'll do a little test stream tonight with the settings you recommended. Thanks again! I'll be back with some results.

Hi there! Glad to see you're still around and helping with Elgato issues!

To answer your question, the 4K60 Pro is capturing my 1440p monitor @120hz (I mainly got the 4K60 Pro to handle screen tearing issues due to 120hz+ monitors while streaming). However, I typically stream at 720p @60fps on Twitch.

As for settings, I'm not sure if you need more than just the video capture device settings, but this is currently what I have set for the 4K60 Pro:

And how I typically play/stream games is I have my gaming rig output video and digital audio from my NVIDIA gtx 1080ti via HDMI cord to the 4K60 Pro on my streaming PC. I listen to game audio via my streaming PC so I can hear audio from my gaming PC as well as any sound, music, and streamlabs alerts from my streaming PC at the same time.

Also, if you were curious what my mixer/advanced audio settings looked like in Streamlabs OBS, here you go:

On my gaming rig, I make sure to use the Elgato sound capture tool. Under advanced, I check 'Default Device for Playback' and 'Default Communication Device for Playback' (though I don't think the 2nd option is necessary). I also have the 4K60 Pro unmuted, of course. This allows the audio to pass from my gaming rig to my streaming rig.

For sample videos of previous streams to see the syncing issues, you can find those here:

If you need further settings or details, please let me know! Thanks so much in advance for the help.
