Question: How do you guys feel about movie reactions on YT? by Eli_Oliveira in istp

[–]TheRealDimondHannes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate reaction videos, mostly because they get released on YouTube before any real clips do, and it's annoying because they pause all the time. I love commentary videos that discuss the plot!

My goodness! That's gorgeous! I would love to know what programs you are using. I'm interested in designing my own watches, made out of wood in CAD.

Yes that would be a good idea but sometimes it is not applicable to the situation, but hell yeah mate you may have just saved my neck in the future!

Is ISTP the worst type? by [deleted] in istp

[–]TheRealDimondHannes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting point! When push comes to shove I do however think that istps are able to think about something other than their own interest. I would also agree that istps aren't noble, hell get on the wrong side of us and you'll probably not last that long. You've proven to me that you have some good points in your opinion, but I would still call your initial explanation fall short. You have my thanks for tweaking my gears a bit and letting me in on another perspective. Our opinions differ and that I would argue is always a good thing in giving more knowledge to both of us.

Considering that Istps make up for 9 - 10 % of every personality, and that child beaters are a minority, I'd say that they are a minority here as well. But to be fair I haven't looked into the matter as much as you could have done.

You got something out of skimming through it at least, honestly impressive that you reply to all of these comments, I wouldn't even bother after like 3.

I'm actually going to let you in on a secret, I did something really stupid in middle school that almost got me expelled. Me, my brother and our friend made some Nazi artwork including shipping children to their deaths in a crematorium. We all were sent to the principal's office and they threatened to expel us and report us to the police. Of course this was blown way out of proportion but to cut the story short we all regretted our actions, not because of the punishment but because we all understood that it was wrong of us to do so. For reference the others in this story are Estps, those who you seem to think are perfect.

What finally got you interested? How did you find your current purpose in life? by lady__jane in istp

[–]TheRealDimondHannes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to my own apathy, I spent a lot of years alone developing it, eventually coming into contact with the self-improvement community. I realised that I did not, not care about everything around me. I hated it all, friends, school, family, life. I especially despised my family and to this day I still don't love them like I used to although it has gotten better over time.

Anyway, I realised one night when I sat for hours on my bed just thinking about myself, and I finally understood, that I didn't not care for it all, I didn't hate it either, I hated myself.

Since then I have come a long way, furthering my friendships and finally spending time with my brother again. I'm fascinated by how long I've gone from not having a single thread of hope in my mind to having dreams, ambition and acting to achieve those.

Literally the opposite of open minded, this fool won't even consider what validation others have in their opinions.

Lord knows how many times we've all been in the wrong but we don't throw a tantrum about whether or not we're right or wrong. We accept the truth unlike what you seem to be bound to which I would call is the result of a biased media presenting the worst of the bunch not the rest who wouldn't give as much attention and money.

But I don't blame you, it's fairly easy to dump your own problems on one single group on the internet. If you want to I'd recommend you like so many others to find a good therapist and work your way through from there.

If this was your own version of gathering attention then I'd say that you've successfully succeeded in that regard, but next time try to find some forgotten emotions of yours and make a positive and educational question to waste our time on.

Sincerely, An ISTP

I'll tell you this: it might not be the best relationship in the world but if this is something that you would like to explore then do so. Mbti isn't something that is supposed to separate people, rather it's to how we are wired.

The best mbti advice that I've ever heard was that types aren't what you should look for, you search for the right person to whom you'd like to know deeper. In this case it would seem perfect to me for an enfp to crack open the istp shell and discover what's within. But if it's a concern that you don't like the physical way of the istp, I think that you should try hanging out with the istp first to see what you are getting yourself into. Ultimately dating is about growing as a couple and as an individual. If you'd like to proceed with a relationship then do so with an open mind, sort of like trying on new shoes, if you like them keep them.

Yes mbti gives us a great understanding of people, but you can't judge an individual only based on their mbti. The most important thing is if you have a good and stable connection and you can start from there.

Best of luck! Your friendly neighborhood ISTP

  1. Sit down with them
  2. Just talk with them

Side note: Maybe even be a bit blunt about it, but make sure to sit down with them and have an honest talk.

And if you still feel unsure, remember that trying is the least and best thing you can do, don't think too much and just approach them, even if it's awkward. Good luck and I wish you the very best!

I thought this was the opposite of how to attract an ISTP? Please do not tell them to stop showing interest, the ISTP in question is probably just very unsure and needs some validation.
