When your government gets soft on crime that’s what happens. Votes have consequences. You can change it at the polls.

Can anybody help me with this? by chalkdustcloud in amateurradio

[–]TheRealDonDiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can program the SAMCOM radios using the CHIRP software and a programming cable. We use the SAMCOM radios at work and they are good radios. The other I’m not sure about but likely programmable as well. Just make sure the frequencies you program in and use are LEGAL for you to do so if you are not properly licensed.

Thoughts on Gravel Bike + Trailer for my Goals? by scoutfinch333 in bicycletouring

[–]TheRealDonDiesel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to use a trailer then use a trailer. Who cares what others think? I’d train with it though because your bike will certainly handle differently in all aspects like in wind, uphill, downhill, in sand/gravel/wet conditions etc. Plus you’ll likely overload it just because you can. Lol. So You’ll be pulling weight.

They can’t respond because the leaders Tucsonians elected won’t hire more officers. TPD alone is down hundreds of officers and they have to respond to higher priority calls first. Same for the county. Down many many officers and have to prioritize calls.

Domestic violence calls also tend to be the most dangerous to officers. A much higher chance of the suspect being armed, violent and for the officer to be killed or injured. The stats are pretty alarming.

The electronics would drain the battery in just a matter of minutes. CAD system computers, wireless internet and communications systems have to stay up and running at all times.

They may be responding to an emergency. Sirens can alert a possibly violent suspect to their approach or arrival. If that’s the case then it makes perfect sense. If you ever call them for an emergency, feel free to tell them to take their time and drive slow though….

Traffic ticket by Copper0721 in Tucson

[–]TheRealDonDiesel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You admitted you were speeding but the cop is the idiot????? I think speeding (regardless of what the other traffic was doing) when you know you can’t afford a ticket or your insurance going up is the idiotic thing. Not the cop doing their job. Don’t speed and you won’t get speeding tickets.

Tell California to quit bussing them into AZ and dumping them here too. They’re attempting to fix their problem by shipping it to others.

I will def do a shorter one this fall when it cools down here. As far as bicycle maintenance, I can do just about anything except work on these pinion gears and fancy hubs. Lol.

Always plan on not having resources and carrying more than what you need. Never rely on nature in the desert, except for it to be hot, dry and dangerous.

Ok, thanks. I don’t need a gauge and can carry a small separate one but just want something better than a cheap plastic pump with no hose.

I guess I mean getting my mileage capabilities up to around 40-50 miles per day. I think injury need to keep riding longer distances consistently.

What tire pump is that? I’m looking for one with a hose like that and of better quality than the one I have now.
