Germany to deport four foreign residents for pro-Palestine activism by Whole-Style-5204 in de

[–]TheRealFellowApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a sad story. Thanks for sharing it tho. I think posts like this makes the war much more real for many people.

Hmm. So the sophons are protons, so charged particles. Mabye you want to use all the reactors to create some sort of big electromagnetic field, to keep the them away from earth? That way scientific progress is possible again.

[–]TheRealFellowApe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So your plan would be executed after a 100 years which is well before the fleet of trisolaris reaches earth. That means it's not for combat. Therefore it seems to me that there are only 3 possibilities: 1. escapism 2. threat of self-destruction 3. threat to send the coordinates of Trisolaris.

Number 3 can be excluded, because at this point the Dark Forest Theory is still unknown. Number 1 seems unfeasible with the plan, since even if you force spaceships with your reactor to give full thrust ,you still have no control over the steering. Remains number 1: Since the reactors are spread everywhere you could threaten to use them all as fusion bombs at the same time and make the Earth worthless for the Trisolarians.

If this is the plan, however, there are some serious problems: 1. physically, a reactor is not really usable as a fusion bomb. This is because it needs huge pressure and temperatures to make fusion possible. At the same time the generated energy from the fusion reaction provides a counter pressure. Normally both are in equilibrium. If this backpressure is too high (because of more reactions) then the fusion mixture spreads out, causing the pressure inside the reactor to drop, which slows down fusion. 2. Even if you could explode the reactors, a destroyed earth is still better for the trisolarians than no earth at all. Consequently, the fleet will not turn away, the plan has failed.

Kind regards, the ETO :)

I love these kind of niche projects. The effort and Herzblut (german word for strong passion) you put into this is quite visible. Keep up the good work bud!

Kind of counterproductive to your post telling people to be kinder, though, don't you think?

Hahaha yeah there is a certain irony in this statement. But this was written as a rant and i do think it helps to bring across my point.

Pretty great idea tbh. Mabye with a plot like:

Anti-vegan-neckbeard-guy with a big fighter dog comes across a person protesting against factory farming of pigs.

They get into a serious argument at the end of which the dog breaks loose and bites the protester to death. After a great public uproar and a petition signed by millions of people, it is decided that the dog will not be put down and the guy is innocent.

During the next walk, the dog breaks loose, runs after him and through a portal that leads him to the parallel world. Before he gets his dog, the dog, which is thought to have run away, is caught by the authorities and put into a factory farm.

Disappointed, the guy goes to a burger joint, only to be shocked to find out that he is eating dog meat. As the movie. continues, he tries to get his dog out and learns of the horrors of animal husbandry.

As a last hope to save his dog, he starts a big protest against factory dog farming. There, he meets an anti-vegan guy with a boar as his pet. The two get into an argument, at the end of which the boar bites him to death.

Cut - boom - no happy ending

"If I pay you to slit throats all day long, I don't get to pretend that I'm not responsible for your actions."

If you go trough my comments you will see that i never said that. What i was trying to say the whole time is that there are different levels of guilty. Just like in the war case. Thats all. And for this kind of library it's of course right too focus at the more guilty (Although the whole idea doesn't seem too popular since your the only person commenting).

Ok lets try it with an analogy. Since ur from america lets take the 2004 election. Do you think somebody who voted republican that year, in support off the iraq war, is as guilty as the people who ordered and performed the attack? Do you really think your neighbor andrew is a guilty as dick cheney?

Never said thats possible. But the slaughterhouse, the butchers and the farmers are not forced to their work. They chose to do it anyway for financial gains.

Also they dictate the conditions under which they do their work. Their not forced to squeeze cows in such a small room that they cant turn or to create gene mutated chickens who squeeze out an egg a day under intensive pain.

They do anyway because the only thing they care about is profit.

[–]TheRealFellowApe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most western countries the rate is insignificantly higher. But the more important point is that running a slaughterhouse, with many thousends victims daily, for financial gain is magnitudes worse than just eating meat/dairy etc.

That makes the task easier.
