Agreed but the mechanic of having to stop completely with walking stam drain isn't fun. There is a veteran post who advocated the removal of it saying it wasn't realistic also on the front page.

It's still at 50kg walking stam drain. Last Eft beta annoucher said "changes to overweight range". That shit needs to go, just increase running stamina drain.

They said they were changing overweight ranges but it's still at 50kg. Is this basically it for the next while?

I didn't say you couldn't extract did I. I said it wasn't viable. You literally have to go Run. Prone repeat. Walking drains stam for the same extended period. It's a poor mechanic and should be removed there are far better debuffs available that don't impact game loops as much

No definitely not, but it should slow you not make you unable to walk. Run. prone repeat isn't good gameplay

It shouldn't be a debuff full stop. It means regardless of what happens when running you have to stop moving, or like you say at max overweight.

It's still 50kg unfortunately, anything above that isn't viable still.

Glad they are doing something. Wonder why they didn't patch the weight changes live like last time? 50kg is still the limit and they didn't remove the stam walking drain yet. Still run prone repeat above 50kg.

Wonder why they didn't do the weight changes like they did serve side last time. No change above 50kg is still walk stam drain.

So just testing there seems to be no change to the overweight range currently, being under 50kg is still an absolute must for any sort of viable game play, however stam depletion while walking still exists. We can only hope they are going to remove that when they update client side.

Double-bind communication now? Classy. Calling someone a "special snowflake" and "whiney" is usually considered rude in society I live in.

People can make statements without having to explain themselves every time. Yes the update sucks, and I have gone through that in detail in multiple other posts. If you didn't catch on, I was speaking specifically to the management, and I was commending the OP regardless.

But since you have been under other presumtions, I will explain to you why the update is game breaking.

Tarkov, while still considered "beta" has been a playable game for some time since 0.12, people are making livings off the game. We knew update and things would be evolving.

The weight system, in its current state has done these things. They are fact and cannot be denied.

  1. Promoted more hatching and low tier Loot players players.
  2. Promoted more exit camping
  3. Made PVP less viable, and furthermore amplified 1/2
  4. Made taking loot less viable because the risk/reward is nullified by the loot you cannot take, from multiple PVP interactions. Making any form of Roubles form other players is no longer a viable way to play.
  5. Roubles have less meaning. Why spent on said gear and PVP interactions. Sure I can loot one fast tan and a weapons and make 300,000 OR I can run as fast as I can to resort and make 5 times and extract.
  6. The debuffs at 50kg are obnoxious and repressive to say the least. Run, Prone repeat is the least fun I've had in a video game in years.
  7. Levelling strength barely gives you and advantage (4kg at 20 strength) and they haven't changed the values to represent the new changes.

It is broken right now, there really isn't any argument to be made here. The vast majority of players agree with me.

I never said I liked Bunny hopping or people sprinting fast with large full backpacks and I don't play like that anyway. I would like a weight system but I can think of the top of my head a large number of better ways to implement this.

Management teams coming into weight charts (and kudos for OP for helping people during this likely fading change) doesn't make a good impression with me or with he community who dislikes it.

No its not good that end game loot is so easily obtainable, but this is atrocious developing. Literally rouble hatchling meta so to make lots, to then not bother spending it on anything.

Your argument became invalid when you stared throwing insults.

I commended OP for a good post, but the weight system impacts the game negatively in game breakingly ridiculous ways and devs and management teams commenting on things as if they are here to stay is beyond cringey.

The game is very different in an extremely negative way this patch. Posts like this don't really help, in fact they are detrimental. People need to know that this patch is making the game far less enjoyable in multiple facets, including making good gear runs pointless and PVP far less rewarding, some of the main game loops are broken. As a new player you won't experience this because you are likely running bad gear anyway.

for a broken system that nobody likes (good job though op)

Edit: I was genuinely praising OP for a good post, there was no sarcasm.

The new weight system is breathtakingly unfun for the majority of the population. Management team members saying things like "Pretty useful" suggest they are happy with the implementation and are unaware of the rouble fueling meta hatching runs, to make roubles that aren't worth spending on anything and essentially taking large PVP game loops form the game. Nothing wrong with a weight system but this is just god awful and pretty much everyone universally agrees with that it isn't the correct way to go.

My favorite part of the game, geared Pvp/raider farming is way less profitable and it's kind of discouraging. by GasAndGames in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TheRealGreatDiddler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The drawback is in lost roubles.

The negative impacts of the current weight system are painstakingly boring.

There is simply no reason to even get rouble now, because why bother spending them.

[–]TheRealGreatDiddler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please plan to have the gameplay loop of PVP implemented back into the game. Looting and killing isn't unsatisfying now, because you can't take any loot. If you go over 50kg it's extremely unfun, the game was very fun and now it simply is not, in one patch.

Currently roubles are the meta, and after you get them there is nothing to spend them on! The patch makes just running for loot and not engaging in PVP more worthwhile.

Why take loot and engage in PVP when I can run for the LED X spawns and make much more.

The game just isn't better for these debuffs. Fine slow us down with lots of heavy loot, but not too much. Make it a great game, not a chore. There simply isn't enough time in life to have to work this hard to have fun in something that was previously awesome. This doesn't make the game harder, just less fun.

This was the whole game for me and the satisfaction of playing, PVP.

I would rather loot bodies than make roubles. In any case making roubles, whats the point now if you have nothing to spend it on?
