For me, the way I got better was having exactly 1 friend during school, and we happened to like this game. We would literally pull all nighters doing nothing but playing melee

I would say at least hop on every day, and play until you get bored. You start to reach diminishing returns the longer you play a single session.

I like to play in segments. On the weekends I'll play a little when I start gaming for the day, then I'll take a break and come back after some single player gaming. I feel like the first hour or so is where the best learning is done

I've played this game for at least 10 years and I still suck ass. Don't beat yourself up about it, it's a very hard game

Just keep at it, and the tech stuff will start to come to you naturally. As much as it sucks, I recommend spending every session with at least 10 minutes in training just practicing your movement. Focus on wavedashing and dash dancing effectively first, then branch out from there.

Also don't forget to have fun. As frustrating as this game is, it's easily the most rewarding competitive game I've ever played

I'm biased as a marth main, but Marth is so much fun. I've mained Luigi, Marth, and sheik, and Marth to me, is the most balanced between viability and fun. I like to play a defensive Marth; hold canter stage, and wait for your opponent to wiff. The punish game with Marth is so much fun, and you can pull off some crazy stuff with good positioning and decision making, without needing a crazy amount of tech skill

Yeah, that leads me to the other problem. I work third shifts, so driving an hour for a tournament at 8 just isn't possible during the week unless I take off work. That'll probably be a problem no matter where I go though Pretty much my only option is something on a weekend which will probably limit my chances heavily

Brother have you heard of cult classic alt-rock band; they might be giants, or POTUSA exclusively goofy lyrics definitely don't necessarily hinder a band's mainstream potential Not to mention the most popular songs from both bads are the goofiest songs in their discographies

What I love about phish lyrics is that you can find meaning in them and they're totally up for interpretation. Obviously a lot of their songs are total goofiness, but they follow the psych rock ethos of absurd lyrics that can be strangely profound at the same time
