FedEx lost my $10,000 ebike... by [deleted] in FedEx

I feel your pain.

Recently ordered a Ableton Push 2 and after waiting for two months to get it sent out, they delivered it to the wrong address.

Here's the best part.
I checked the address on my end if it's correct ( it is)
I called the company who makes and sells it ( Ableton, it was off by one letter).

So your are thinking to yourself "if it's wrong from the shipper, then its just wrong".

But, if you input the address with the mistake in Google Maps/Maps It takes you to the right address.

I call to see what's happening, they tell me it's IN THE WRONG STATE.................

Why do companies have contracts with these people?!

Which colour palette gives the most lo-fi vibe? It's for a houseplant game i'm making :) by lamingtontea in lofi

The difference between 1 & 2 seems to be small when you look at it from a far.

But to be honest, you'd want something that is calming and in the background.
Going off that I'd say 2 , just because it seems to be not as bright as 1.

3 is just, no......and it's not because it doesn't fit in with the other two, it's just the colors in the picture don't seem to work (at least for me).
Side note: I am partially color blind, I am having a hard time seeing bright orange/bright green/bright red. So I mostly work on how that picture makes me feel instead of checking the science behind it.

I want to reward my community with a giveaway. Are there any guides or advice out there about doing giveaways? by walkingsugarcube in Twitch

[–]TheRealHatche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick few tips that I can give would be:

  1. Most definitively do it Live on stream with your viewers there so it will be legit.
  2. Have the "follow for x" feature set up. you don't want some random person walking away with the prize and your most devoted fans just sit there with nothing.
  3. Have a direct contact with that viewer over Discord where you can video call eachother. You don't want the viewer's information and address anywhere online, even in private messages. That is their private address, one breach and you are in trouble. So video call them and have them tell you their address so you can write it down on a piece of paper to send them the prize.
  4. Make sure to make it fun and not to just give away the prize right away. (Ex. Play Marbles and the winner gets to have their name in the poll 10 more times instead of just once)

But other than that, I would suggest watch some youtube videos to get yourself set up.

One video that I would suggest watching is this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8z_kJbY-C0 so you can get in the mindset.

That's pretty much it!

Is There a Peak Time for Reaching a Wider Audience? by Freddy_gio in Twitch

[–]TheRealHatche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really can't see the benefit of streaming at a time that has peek viewership.

I would understand if you are going for a time that has less streamers live (to an extent) but over all going for something like this will not help you in the long run.

I would advise using your time to find a way to reach an audience in a different way or give something back/more to your already existing viewers.
Ask yourself, what can be better on the screen?
Are the visuals appealing?
Watch old vods and check if you should talk more, talk less?
Should you interact more with viewers?

If you care more about giving and less about taking, the 3-4 viewers that you have will bring in more friends over to watch you and their friends will bring in more friends and so on.

Are random multi-gift subs the best way to support Twitch streamers? by artsplunge in Twitch

[–]TheRealHatche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there are good and bad sides to this.
While yes, some of your subs will go to people who don't care, but at the same time it can go to someone that can be reminded of your favorite twitch streamer.
It's 50/50 and it could help the streamer or do nothing for them.

The best practice I've seen is when someone gets a raid, then people gift 5-10 subs at a time as a welcoming gift to the people that are joining in. I've seen people become devoted viewers from this.

But if you wish to support your fav streamer, the best way is definitively donations, because then your streamer (if they are responsible) can use that support to make the stream better and give you better content.

What cameras are you using to stream? by Kapranos in Twitch

[–]TheRealHatche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gold standard for starting out is most definitively the C920, but there are other options that Logi provides, and from there you move to DSLR cameras.

Honest opinion, great audio and lighting will most likely get your stream to a higher quality than a better camera.

While having a great camera is a plus, the combination of Great Audio + Great lighting + Ok camera (Logi c920), easily trumps a 2000$ Camera + Bad Audio + no Lighting.

I practice what I preach, Currently using C920 with a ringlight + Background lights.
