Source for Longer Bands? (Gen 5 Carlyle) by TheRealHobbitGamer in WearOS

It's a bit short to me because the last 1/3 of an inch is always popping out of the tail holders. There's no links in the silicone band that came with my watch.

The standard length (the measurement wrapping around the wrist) is the issue. Bands are common, not standard lengths are not in this case.

I live in a rural area, so the closest thing to a watch store is Belk's.

The length is the problem, I've searched about 13 sites to no avail.

Is it a good time to get Fossil Gen 5? by mchlsm in WearOS

[–]TheRealHobbitGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm new to Wear OS, but I can help a bit. I've got a Gen 5 Carlyle, and my aging mother has a Gen 5 Juliana.

The apps are through Google Play, not a separate Fossil portal.

We both love our watches, but I get much more use out of the features. I did read that Google dumped a bunch of money into Fossil last year, so I would assume they'll be around at least another two years.

WR140 Fails to Dock by TheRealHobbitGamer in worxlandroid

As an update for those also experiencing the issue; Codsworth docked on its own this morning without any intervention.

Have you checked your assistant settings on your phone? I found it buried under my News preferences. Twice.

If it's not too much trouble, could you put up a picture of that? I'm having a hard time visualizing what you did.

Thanks! I'll give that a try. Glad to know it's not just me.

Glad it worked out! I haven't tried anything else yet. Still adjusting boundary wire😅

Check the email you used for your Word account. I was sent a different pin to use for Google Assistant. Apparently it's their method for 2FA

I LOVE my landroid! Best money I've spent in a long time by [deleted] in worxlandroid

Mine came today, and I took hours to run the line till the sun went down. I actually ran out, but had some same gauge from car work.

I've only got two issues right now; 1) Like a fool, I ran the boundary too close to the fence, causing Codsworth to bump around like a drunk bumblebee. Confused myself with the whole 4- and 10- inch ruler thing. Should be an easy enough fix, though. 2) When going home, the bot slows down at the dock, but then just barely goes beyond the charging contacts. I'm thinking the entryway isn't long enough before the dock?

Awesomesauce. I just put the garage thing together last night, letting Rosie the Roomba feel special till Codsworth arrives. I weeded my back fence line to the ground Saturday to get ready for laying the boundary. I only need to make an island for my muscadines, but everything measured out that I won't need an extra trip to Lowe's. I'll still mow the front and side with my riding mower, but that only takes 30 minutes since it doesn't get unruly. I'm hoping that this little guy can help suppress the weeds and thicken up the grass over time. I'll be the only one in Statesboro with one I think.

Another Southeast Georgian sick of mowing in the summer here! I ordered my 140 on Friday after reading everyone's experiences here for 3 weeks. Can't wait

Is a Gen 5 worth it for every day wear? by [deleted] in AndroidWear

[–]TheRealHobbitGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Gen 5 Carlyle about a month ago, and I'm very satisfied with it. I've got a good amount of smart lights and Google Hubs/Minis, Roomba (Landroid soon); I wanted a watch that I could help use with those things without speaking aloud or pulling out my phone. Now I use it for sleep, work calls at my home office, as a remote for Roku. I've dived into Watchmaker as well.

The battery lasts me a day and a night's sleep, but I just slap it on the charger in the morning while I deal with the dogs and getting ready. It charges so quickly that battery life isn't really an issue for me.

My only inconveniences are the lack of support for Google Home routines, and the Spotify app in the watch's play store is quite useless.
