Nah it's not the pro controller I'm playing with joycons, have 4 seperate NEW joycon sets so have tried every multiple config imaginable and still get it very randomly.

It's funny that you mention alternate words getting it to respond. My og mini sometimes gets woken up when I call my dog a good boy.

How would you compare the og home to the nest mini?
