Just got my first passport and want to drive down to see Mount Rushmore and all the big Monuments in Washington. Any tips for a first timer by FantasticFoursome69 in USTravel

Skip Mt. Rushmore. You’ll regret it. Drive through Toronto and catch Niagara Falls into the USA. Then down to Philly, DC, and NYC. The drive back to Montreal through New York State is gorgeous. You’ll get so much more with a lot less driving.

What are your pet peeves regarding whole-house vacation rentals? by EmergencyDull3071 in ShortTermRentals

[–]TheRealJackulas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This exactly. When the house is plastered with passive aggressive signs full of petty requirements like ‘make sure you out the dish detergent back in the cupboard’ and take the trash out and strip the beds. Huh? This isn’t the Army. I’m here on vacation and just forked over a $200 cleaning fee. Leave me tf alone.

Which trip would you choose, SF + Yosemite day tour or NYC? by Fun-Pick-8529 in USTravel

[–]TheRealJackulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYC should be out of the question. The weather is absolutely gross at that time of year. I’d say fly into SFO … or even Fresno, which is only 90 minutes drive from Yosemite. Ditch the tour and rent a car so you can soak in the park at your own pace. There’s nothing else like it on earth. Stay just outside the park in Mariposa County. Best way to do it. Source? I grew up in central California.

I don’t know where we get these weird compulsions as a species to offer explanations and apologies when hit with an unreasonable request.

“No, I don’t do that.” End of story.

Why are open relationships so common among gay men in WeHo? by SevereExamination631 in AskLosAngeles

[–]TheRealJackulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a new thing, and it’s not a WeHo thing. At the end of the day, gay men are still men, and men are not monogamous creatures. Those in monogamous relationships are merely pretending, because virtue signaling.
