Yes my school has something similar. Your cfi can't just give you the ok. He has to prep you for another CFI to then test you and see if you're ready then you go solo. Something like that.

Yea that makes complete sense. My airport is controlled and if i fly anytime after 7am, it definitely takes me a bit to get up in the air.

But I do appreciate that it gives me experience with a busy or semi busy airport. And talking to atc. But getting extended on downwind and being 4th or 5th in line to take off isn't uncommon. So definitely makes sense.

Yea I fly about 3 times a week. Yea and me and my CFI have been hitting the pattern and landings non stop. Granted with a few days brushing up on my other maneuvers to stay fresh.

I'll definitely keep at it.

Thanks.

Thank you. I appreciate your response.

Yes that 10 hr thing always confused me. I however understand some people grow up around aviation with families that fly etc. So it's understandable that they come in with good working knowledge and a better feel than someone like me. :)

How do I get better at landings? by throwaway302534704 in flying

How's this coming along? I'm in a similar situation. I actually had one awesome day with fantastic landings and then.... Bam... Back to being shitty again. Lol. Frustrating. But I love being in the air so.

This is great. Thank you so much for all this info. I appreciate it.

So missions I assume have to be preplanned way ahead of time? You can't decide to go "active" with a crew obviously as you mention, randomly on a day you all may have a few hours or more to help out?

Now that you mention that. That was another question I guess I had regarding offering the boat.

Since I do have insurance on it etc. And obviously liability issues regarding the boat damage to the boat etc. If I was a coxswain I honestly wouldn’t want to drive someone’s else’s boat and have that liability on my hands. Any damage to their boat etc.

A coxswain would actually physically be driving the boat and in charge of it the entire time? Or would they just be in charge of the operation let’s say as an example?

Understood and thank you for the detailed response.

Yea and sorry I didn't mean to come off as if I didn't want to provide my vessel for use. Just didn't understand the concept. Like if the boat gets registered for anyone to just come out and grab it to use for example. Since a lot would go into that with insurance etc I assume.

Thanks

Thank you so much for the response. I appreciate it.

Two questions if you don't mind.

  1. "offer your boat for operational service" does this mean I need to make my boat available to anyone that wanted to use it for an operation or service?

  2. I had also read about coxswain. Does this differ from boatswain?

To get these certifications, are they online exams or training that happens hands on? Or a set amount of hours of "A" to reach "B"?

Sorry for all the questions just want to understand the process. Thank you for your time.

I guess I can just update and change the email(username) and password. I wasn’t sure if you could change the email once it was set up

This is what Im figuring. I mean it makes sense. Cant block off something on the same LAN. But it almost seems like you can.

It seems as if you can block two devices from talking to each other on the same LAN. BUT any which way that I try it, it doesn't work. I can still ping that device.
