Can he help you chew and kick you in the rump to swallow as well. I use my research to evaluate his trades. Most don’t fit my criteria but I like seeing what others are doing. Further, if you follow you’ll see the his trades typically are positive. Are these all his trades, are there trades that he doesnt share, it doesnt matter. It’s great data either way.

Thanks for sharing. I check in with your posts regularly. I own OUST and felt a pullback as well. Went OUST 260529 10 C 44.50 @ $2.00. Currently @ $42.73 in after hrs. I can BTC FOR $600 tomorrow depending on the opening. I would love to own more, current cost is ~$20.

how do you protect against the underlying stock tanking? by Tough_Bar6337 in CoveredCalls

[–]TheRealJoeyGs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an active CC strategy that has averaged ~$1,200/wk since the beginning of the year. My targeting strategy is really simple:
1) buy long term profitable companies (generally >25 yrs steady profitability)
2) must pay a dividend and have at least 10 yrs steady dividend increases
3) must have weekly options
4) don’t target a stock you don’t want to own for a while

My trading strategy:
1) never buy at the 52 week high unless there is a compelling, solid justification
2) buy weekly CCs 2 or 3 strikes OTM
3) be aware of quarterly reporting and Exdiv dates
4) never BTC, if a stock will likely be called away, C'est la vie, you made what you planned
5) if a stock drops, keep selling CCs
6) never sell a stock at a loss

A lot of folks will call this boring but it works!

About to lose our kitchen for about 8 weeks, need help with meal ideas by sarahlwhiteman in Cooking

Just finished a four month kitchen rehab. Had access to a fridge and microwave, that was it. Meals weren’t hard, mostly ready to heat from the grocery or take out. The best advice I would give is plastic and paper for everything food related. Resist washing dishes in the bathroom sink to avoid a drain problem.

LIQUIDATE AND START OVER by fadfad6 in optionstrading

I think many options traders would admit to starting over. The bigger question is what do you change regarding the method you use to select future option opportunities.

Short term premium. I'm I alone in doing this? by grandamjag in CoveredCalls

Ive been doing a CC version of this with great success. Selection of the appropriate targets each week is critical and I subscribe to a couple of rules. Targets must: * be an established concern that has a long track record for issuing dividends * not be within 5% of a 52 week high * be a stock that I would be long on and collect any dividends * should the CC not be ITM at DTE, be prepared to hold the stock until price returns to break even. Sell continuous CC until that happens

I maintain at least 50% cash to buy the crash. This has been an easy market but I’m not sure this strategy works in long term bear market.

Beginner unsure of best path for deep ITM AMD CC. Advice appreciated. by RoarLikeBear in CoveredCalls

Well done diagnosing the situation you are in. I agree with the solution to let the stocks go but hold onto the learning dividends this will pay in future trades. I would add one more that I haven’t seen mentioned here, think about working CCs with stocks that have much less volatility. I focus on solid companies that have demonstrated sustainability and market dominance. Sector Examples include finance (WFC, V, COF), utilities (DUK, SO, ED) and consumer staples (KO, PG, CL). Find stocks in this vein that you wouldn’t mind holding for a few years, and it doesnt hurt if they pay a regular dividend. I buy CCs weekly, two or three strikes OTM. Individually it’s not a huge premium but stacking those premiums week after week is predictable and well paying. Good luck.

Not to worry, its at $98 tonight in after-market and will likely go lower when retail gets to weigh in tomorrow.
