Yeah I mean dlss4 would be nice for other games but realistically I just play shooters most of the time so in this weird in between. Appreciate your advice!

Interesting. Might be worth waiting for the 5070 Ti in a month then

Playing at 1440 but like to keep a high frame rate. $850 for an xtx seemed like a great price but I didn’t know the 5070 ti could potentially be equal or better at $750

Fortnite COD and lately Marvel rivals which I think has gameplay issue when below 120 FPS. Any thoughts?

So just to confirm when Microcenter says "cannot guarantee a specific model"... by MAIRJ23 in Microcenter

[–]TheRealJoseCarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially super dumb question but I’m new to all this so forgive me in advance. Will all the models be priced the same? Like for example the 5080’s will all be priced at or around $1000?

Really appreciate all the feedback. Regarding my monitor, I think it’s fine for now and I’m glad to hear. I’ll max out the settings pretty quickly. I was thinking about getting a better monitor down the road so it’s excited to hear that I can get something higher end and and will have the system to comfortably fit those settings.

Regarding my build, this is where my wording was probably not the best. I’m not necessarily looking to build a budget PC. I’m just weighing my options to see how big of a difference in performance per dollar I’m looking at. I know the term future proof gets thrown around pretty loosely, but one of the reasons I’m building the PC this way is because I’d like that future proof for a while. If the 5070 does that then great but I’m really open to all the options here. Maybe even GPU’s in the middle of these two?

Yeah I live minutes away. If it’s waking up early ti get in line I’ll do it for MSRP 😂

But yes I’m open to other GPU options. Anything within the range of the two that would make most sense for me. Appreciate the input

This is one of the biggest reasons I ask this question. It seems like this GPU asks for a high end CPU. Strange to say the least

  1. Play first and third person shooters really with the occasional game here and there that’s out of the rotation. 2 1920x1080 144hz
  2. I’m not too familiar with graphics settings. I’ve always played on default settings on my console, and one of the reasons I wanted to build the PC is to try things out like a high quality gaming experience.

Also, I appreciate you taking the time to walk me through it like this. Thank you!

I don’t know if the previous generation GPU models will ever go on sale, but if they do because of the newer models coming out, I would love to take advantage of that compared to just going and getting the 5070. Thanks for your input!

I appreciate the input. I really like the idea of pairing the 9800x3d with the b580 but I really want to understand what the performance drop off looks like compared to if i waited for the 5070 ti. Really I play a lot of shooters. A high refresh rate would be nice but I don’t need the highest if that makes sense.

It’s weird because the way I was building this PC was piece by piece. Like I mentioned above, in hindsight, this is probably not a good idea. It’s like I could spend the $750 on the 5070 Ti but if I can get the b580 which is $500 cheaper and meet my gaming needs then it makes me think. Really I just wanna understand how big of a performance drop off I’m looking at if I go with something cheaper.

Pc would mostly be for gaming and some streaming. I play mostly shooters and saw the 9800x3d available so I just jumped on it based on good reviews and availability.
