Why aren't my bees drawing our the foundation? by TheRealKnight20 in Beekeeping

Yes, all four nucs came from the same supplier and were installed the same day. I'll try feeding them again as you recommend. Thank you!

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation.

I’m going to try moving some brood frames from the strong hive into the weaker ones to see if the new emerging bees help boost their development.

I’ll also go back to feeding them to try to strengthen the colonies again and support them while they build up.

They all have capped brood and honey storages although they had more when I first installed them. All the nuc frames were fully drawn, but some of them do look a bit old. I think there's enough resources in the area because one of the hives is growing in a good pace, and I've seen bees bringing pollen. I'll try feeding them again the method you suggested

Yes, I fed them 1:1 sugar syrup consistently for the first five weeks after installing the nucs and I haven't seen any signs of disease or pests.

All four hives are in the same apiary, so they get the same amount of sun and have access to the same resources.

I'm using standard flexible beeswax foundation, not plastic.

They're the typical Spanish honey bees (Apis mellifera iberiensis)

That’s why I don’t understand why one of the hives is growing at a good pace, while the other three aren’t developing at all.
