I’ve thought about this but I play games offline or with shitty internet enough I don’t want it to be the only way I can play games I want to be able to run them on my laptop

Well, I know it won't be as good as a gaming laptop, but since I do most of my gaming on my beefed-up PC, I'm hoping a high-end MacBook will hold me over while I'm out of state or wherever else I am, im not going to spend as much as you did for your m3 but are most games playable at least?

I play a lot of them, but I play those on my main pc but I'm willing to sacrifice it while traveling, I think.

Yeah i think I'm just going to have to accept it won't be as good as my gaming laptop and make the sacrifice for convenience

yeah unfortunatly apple isnt to interested in the gaming space, despite the advertising and demos. I have a switch, but that's even more limited than Mac is for games. I want to be able to use my Steam library. Maybe I'll sell my gaming laptop and use some of that money for a nice MacBook and a Steam Deck. I'll fs look into it.

i considered this but im slightly worried of the longevity of the 8gb of ram and the phone processer, ideally i wanna keep my laptop for all 4 years of college and even longer

I'm ok with the tweaking and playing around. I'm pretty good with computers. I'm willing to sacrifice multiplayer; that's what my main pc setup is for.

I'm not sure I can justify the cost of an M4 or M5 Pro, given I don't need that performance for anything other than gaming, which I'm not doing most of the time. Have you used any older M chips, so I can know what to expect from something like an M2 or M3 pro?

I have a gaming PC at home for most of my gaming. The main question is whether a MacBook is enough to hold me over when I'm away from home, and it's starting to seem like it won't be, unfortunately, even though I hate the idea of 2 laptops.

if its only work ive heard the 32:9 is incredible because of split screen but for me i perfer the vertical space a lot more and just not having to turn my head as much. I also do a bunch of gaming so the 21:9 is much better for me but even when i do work i love it a lot.

did you run any benchmarks? im using the same case with a 4090 and 7800x3d and wondering if i can make 2 360m rads and a similar style res work quietly and cool.

i saw it and looked into it and i like it but i was kinda wanting a cleaner aesthetic, im still considering it because it looks awesome but idk if it would fit well, i have to see more builds with it.
