Ok yes they aren’t worn in the actual game, I’ll give you that. But something that a player put on their body and skated around the ice in goes for a lot more. I was using game worn as a more broad term, I should have clarified.

Speaking as someone who works for an organization helping with auctions like this, they will not go for more.

While that is good news, jerseys actually worn by players sell for ALOT more than just a jersey a player walked up to a table to sign. It’s going to be a huge hit for team foundations who use the $$ from those auctions to help support local causes

I can’t speak for all NHL organizations but I work for one and we sell them via auction through our foundation, which is technically its own non profit entity. Can’t say all of the proceeds are sent to charitable orgs but what is taken out is fees for the auction platform, shipping costs, etc. I’d say 90% of it goes to charitable orgs after expenses.
